Gmyers please step on earth, please. I know everyone has their own favourites, but there are limits of fantasy. He don't have any chance at all without a quad vs clean guys from top with quads. Even vs Hanyu without a quad, because his other jumps are bigger and better(beside flip edge), and let's face it Hanyu SS are better overall.
You coming from point that the only thing Jason is missing is quad, and everything other he is the best over the rest. Yes, he is great dancer but there are other factors in SS and PCS overall. I don't see judges giving him too much higher PCS than last season without upping technical arsenal and delivering it
You saying that he could win olympics ? Are you kidding me ? Even with bad free skates from Hanyu and Chan he would have need a score of 194 to overtake Hanyu. How on earth that would have been possible ?
And to be clear I like Jason's skating and I would like to see him getting quads, because I am curious how he will handle program with quads
I think Gmeyers is not a Jason fan but expressing fear that Jason will be the next Evan.

I don't think Jason will be like Evan. Jason knows how to build up his performance very well and he know how to stay healthy, unlike Evan who overworked himself and couldn't do quads (not that he didn't have quads,) due to injuries, to the point Frank had to tell him to stop. Jason knows his body the best and I think Kori Ade never has to tell him to not injury himself. And Jason is much more exciting to watch than Evan.

aaaaaaah Downton. That music actually worked for me as a sp. With her fall I think Mariah will probably stay in the lead but we'll see. Looking at the PCS, I actually kind of think Mariah was underscored here. I suppose I'd have to watch the program again, but a 5.89 feels awfully low to me.
Gmeyers has complained for years what a travesty Evan was as a quadless Olympic champion. I supposed borderline appearance of fandom is a coping mechanism...
Mariah is new to the senior international scene, so her score reflects that I think...
Yeah I suppose that's true, and she didn't have a particularly stellar junior career to catapult to set her up well this year, but hey! Hopefully she goes up from here. Also is she new to Kori's team this year?

Oh gezzz what happened in the past is the past. The rules have changed.
I also think that Even's program layout was not that impressive for an Olympic champion but it was due to the rule of that time.Yes, as of this spring/summer.
