I know nothing about "Avatar" but, going by her costume, I am guessing that the first skater is skating to music from that film.

Either that, or Smurfette is now going in for wild rugged fashion.

She is wearing a royal blue jumpsuit with an off-white bra and skirt over it.

Oi! A computer screen appeared on the livestream in the middle of the programme, blocking our view of the skating!

Thankfully, the person controlling the stream realised quickly, and closed it within 10 seconds.

Now that is something different.

Skater #4, her coach, and another skater were doing those arm heart things when they were waiting for her scores. And somebody drew a heart on the screen. Then she did the famous Audrey Hepburn "Breakfast At Tiffany's" pose, and a flower got drawn on the screen.

Then the three of them started making hearts with their hands and doing other poses to try to get more things drawn on the screen, but the person doing the drawing had clearly got fed up and wasn't playing along.

Anyway, she went into 4th position.

Just as a follow up, a heart was drawn around Skater #5 and her coach, but they weren't looking at the screen and didn't see it. So, the artist did it again, and after a while they looked up and saw it. And they smiled.

It's a novelty at the moment, but it could get old very quickly.

She went into 5th position.

I wound the stream back during the Group 2 Warm-Up, and the on-screen drawing was first done when Skater #2 and her coach were doing a heart arm thing. But I didn't notice at the time.

It wasn't done for Skater #3, because she and her coach were too busy looking at something on a mobile phone while they were waiting for the scores. Or for Skater #6, presumably because she had a male coach and they weren't doing any heart arm things.

Skater #7 had three other wee girls with her. And this time a smiley face was drawn on the screen. The irony is that the moment that they saw it was the only time that any of them did smile!

She went into 4th position.

The first of the boys did an "Addams Family" programme. And I was going to say "he's keen, shaving his head to look like Uncle Fester". But when he sat down to get his scores, you could see the line across his forehead of where the cover ended. And whenever he smiled, it wrinkled up.

But, I have to take my hat off, it blended in perfectly with his skin tone. Much better than the illusion mesh you get in most figure skating dresses.

Wow. It's taking forever to his scores to come through.

That is some shirt that the third of the boys is wearing! It is like somebody has been drawing all over it!

He was skating to "Lemon Tree" by Fool's Garden.

Awww. As well as his coach, a girl joined him. And then another boy arrived too!

He goes into 2nd position.

Resurfacing (finally!), so time for breakfast.

We now have another combined competition. A group of containing 6 Chicks A girls and 1 Chicks Axel boy.

The Tirnavia Ice Cup stream is continuing to work no bother. Which is what makes me think the problem is at Riga's end, rather than mine.

I take back what I said about Skater #3's music.

As well as her coach Jelena MUHHINA (the Estonian Junior Ladies Champion for the 2001-02 Season, who I assume is a relative), that looks suspiciously like my girl Oliviia BAZLOVA (CYP) that is sitting with her!!!

Oliviia has a bag with her, and she holds it up to the camera. But, I don't know what the writing on it means.

Anyway, Skater #3 goes into 2nd position.

We now have a girls double-bill, which consists of the remaining Basic Novice competitions. 15 younger girls; followed by 9 middle girls.

But, I am going to pause it now to do stuff, and then play catch-up.

Since seeing Jelena MUHHINA (EST) sitting with a skater that is presumably related to her earlier, it has made me pay more attention to the names of the skaters.

And there are a couple of skaters in this competition who, when I saw their surnames, I wondered if they were related to other older skaters.

For example, the girl representing Austria that skated at #4. My first thought was "are you related to Max PFISTERER (DEU)?" (I know he's German, but it is possible!)

And I have been wondering since seeing her last season if the girl representing Latvia that skated at #8 is related to my kid Stefania YAKOVLEVA (CYP). Because as well as having the same surname, she and her sister (who is not competing here) do look like younger versions of Stefania.

Let's face it, in the greater scheme of things, Saint Petersburg (where Stefania is from) and Riga (where the club these sisters train at is located) are not too far apart. For goodness sake, it's about the same distance between London and Edinburgh.

I just watched her, and she did an Indian programme. (In case you are wondering, it was different music to the one Stefania did a couple of years ago). I enjoyed it, but she looked disappointed when she finished.

She went into 4th position.

That was fun.

Skater #14 had coach Jekaterina Platonova and 3 other skaters sitting with her. And the wee girls got all excited when the heart was drawn on the screen. And they kept making more hearts, and more hearts were drawn. And they started drawing their own hearts in the air, and whoever was drawing the hearts on the screen was following them.

You couldn't help but smile at their antics!

Anyway, the girl that had just skated went into 5th position.

Group 2 were sent out to do their Warm-Up as soon as the last skater in Group 1 came off the ice. So, we missed the first minute or two while she was getting her scores.

This is trickier today. We have two girls wearing white jackets over black dresses and black tights.

Well, not really. You can spot Oliviia by the quality of what she is doing!

Lovely combination jump in the background just after we joined the warm-up. And a lovely spin not long afterwards.

Ha! She even did an extra jump when she was coming towards the gate to leave the ice!

Right, back to eating.

Yes, I was doing the hand movements too along with Skater #8 and her friends.

She and another girl did one of those heart arm things around the littlest girl on the sofa. And you should have heard the "ooohs" out of them all when a heart then started appearing on the screen!

Mmmm. I think the other girl in the black dress was actually the girl that was in 2nd after the SP. And apart from a bit of a stumble on a jump early on, she was good.
