Can't help it, I have to go here!

I tried once, but I have small veins and after 30 minutes the technicians said, "Never mind!" LOL . They couldn't get enough for a whole donation.

The same thing happened to my daughter in college, when she and some friends went together to donate. The others were all finished in 5 minutes, but with her, after 30 minutes the technicians said, "Never mind!"

I was told long ago not to even try. Many in my mother's family, including me, are "bleeders". Not to the serious level of hemophilia, but we bruise very easily and cuts don't clot quickly. My dentist hates me, and when each of my kids were born they had a stack of blood bags all ready in the delivery room for transfusions. I'm grateful to the people who do donate because I've been the recipient quite often!

I tried to give blood, but it turned out that I couldn't because I was slightly anemic as a kid. I still go to a hematologist once a year for checkups (of my hemaglobin levels).
