Photographer Mikhail Sharov traditionally shares photos from the Russian Championships in mid-summer. Since there are so many photos of Andrei from the short program, I’ll split the photo series into several posts. Let’s look back at how it went!
Yesterday we received some good news about the Russian juniors being accepted to the ISU Grand Prix event in China. I’m so happy for them. The junior stage of an athlete’s career is often underestimated, and medals and achievements aren’t given much importance, but this is an extremely harmful misconception. The junior stage is very important for an athlete’s career, especially considering how short it can be.
To mark the occasion, I decided to look back on Andrei Mozalev’s junior debut on the international stage at the 2016 NRW Trophy. He was 13 years old, and exactly 10 years have passed since then.
To be honest, I’m really hoping for a second debut and his comeback this fall, 10 years later.
