x credit for highlight distribution, jump element multiplied by 1.1.

I see it in the protocols sheets and it's always with a -score. I thought credit would be a +score.

Help - Joe

And an hour later, who is responsible for the "x"? I believe it is the Techn Panel. Correct?

It's at the bottom of the scoresheet what it means. x is gets second half bonus (10%)

As mskater said, x means that a given jump element occured in the second half of the program. It always receives 10% bonus, and it is automatically calculated and included in the base tech mark, not in the GoEs. If you happened to see a few scoresheets where the skaters have received -GoE, well, that just means that the skaters messed up their jumps. But certainly it is not always the case. Just off the top of my head, here:

Takahashi got some +GoE for his jumps past the halfway mark, and Oda did not receive a single -GoE.

If you look at the base values, you'll notice that the same jump past half-way mark (Oda's 3A - 8.25) has higher base value that the same jump done at the beginning of the program (Takahashi's 3A - 7.50).

The Tech Panel is responsible for assigning the bonus, but the requirements for receiving it are so stiff that it would be rather impossible to bend the rules in favour of a particular skater.

Thank you both so much. I knew of the bonus points but I didn't associate them with the "x". Someday, I will become very knowledgeable about FS scoring.
