The scoring at this competition has been very high. It is very unusual when ALL of the teams who competed before have much higher scores in the FD than they did in the first event. Yes, most teams do improve, but usually not all do, and not by as much as they did here (and I'm not referring only to the medalists).

Fairly expected, given the scoring in the two previous segments.

On the bright side, both R&G and S&S should be clinched for the JGPF.

That's why I do not take skaters based on their PBs all that seriously for comparisons in other competitions.

looking at Mexico don't agree

Yeah, me either, at least not in the the free dance, Riazanova/Guerreiro had a higher base value (37.20) than the Hubbells (35.40), because they had no level 2s, while the Hubbells had level 2s in their step sequence and one of their lifts. The Hubbells gained slightly more in GOE - 5.5 to R/G's 5.24. The Hubbells also had slightly higher PCS - 39.44 to 38.87. R/G higher score comes entirely due to their higher base value, as you can see. I'm sure the Hubbells are working on getting higher levels for their next assignment.

In the OD, R/G had one more level 4 element than the Hubbells, once again having a higher base value. They did gain more in GOE (4.19 to 3.80), but H/H had higher PCS by over a point - 24.41 to 23.22. So that one is kind of a tossup.

R/G's Starlight Waltz

Like I said before,...I don't think its even close...
After watching both R/G's and the Shibutani's Starlight Waltz, R/G's dance was completely off time and I believe the Shibutani's should have won the CD. Both teams were equally fast but I thought the Shibutani's had cleaner lines. Just my opinion.

funny i see it different.you really don't understand the pattern of the dance or the elements and how they need to be performed( timing on a videos can be misleading ) and as for position come on!
R/G in my opinion really didn't have any competition:biggrin:
