Tarasova begs Putin to save Russian figure skating

Legendary coach Tatiana Tarasova has written an open letter to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, appealing to him to save Russian figure skating.

This is all a part of making the KHL really competitive to the NHL and if they have to throw out the figure skaters to make more money for the KHL and the all the sponsors of hockey I am sure they will do it and the skaters displacement would not be important to them! That is awful and hope it doesn't happen but if it does they are not so inconsiderate of the figure skaters - thought Russia would be more considerate and not turn into hockey is number one and blech to figure skaters! The KHL is becoming all consuming of resources!!

When all is said and done, hockey fills more arena seats than figure skating ever could. That's what drives the money train. :sheesh:

Sadly, that's true I'm devastated that Stars On Ice is only coming to ten cities this year.

Russian skating has definitely experienced a decline over the past five years or so.

Wow I'm still shaking my head about Stars On Ice just visiting 10 cities.
