They really are not coming back to competition. I expected it, but I'm still sad about it. I would have loved to see that wonderful, soaring twist again in a competition!
I agree with some posters in other threads though that it will be impossible to recreate the magic of that 2017-2018 season with the Olympic Free skate as an incredible highlight. Replication at Worlds was a big bonus. So, they went out on an absolute high.
