 Unless my eyes failed me, she was training 3A/4L on harness and 4S off harness.
You're right, she did, but I think the 4L is a meant to improve her 3TanoL, not in order to land 4L in the future... at least, not yet. That's what it looked like, to me, at least.
I doubt she'll be jumping quads any time soon, but I won't be surprised if she'll try to go for 3A during her future Junior seasons. :)

Definitely - I was surprised to see her jumping the 4S without a harness though! Do skaters usually train an extra rotation to help stabilize their triples?

Looking forward to her 3A

Oh, I did like how the harness training specialist told her to extend her arm fully, without bending(1:42)- the making of a proper tano jump. :p

She trains 10 hours every day? :eeking: I hope she won't overtrain herself....

i think she train 4-6 hours on ice and the rest of the 10 hour training period is off ice? but yeah hope she won't be worn out but i feel like she's not seeing how she is motivated and sets her goals :hap10:

This is a sentiment I expressed earlier but was very succinctly dismissed. Be careful about what you express about these prodigious skaters. ;)

Well, my common sense is telling me, it can be hurtful in long time period. There was a video of Shoma Uno and Daisuke Takahashi talking, where Shoma said he trains everyday and Daisuke told him that he should take one day a rest in a week. IIRC, Shoma now takes a rest on a Sunday. I hope someone will tell Young to take some time for a rest sooner or later.... it would be a shame if she burned herself out before starting a serious skating career. She said herslef she doesn't have time for friends and should have at least one day! About being dissmissed, well everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm not scared of forum users ;)

If there's one rule I'd back the judges on, it would be limiting the amount of tanos down to 2 per program.

I don't like the idea of limiting tanos... like the idea of limiting how many jumps it can be used for a positive GOE bullet point.

If they want to do them, fine, let them... but let's stop rewarding it when it is being used in a manner clearly not how it was intended.

I suspect that if they only got credit for one, maybe two tanos... we would see fewer.

You worded better, but I agree that if the judges are only crediting a limited amount, then we will see fewer tanos.

I'm more concerned about how it's screwing up her jumping technique. Those Tanos clearly shifted her balance in a way that makes her jumps feel wonky. She used to have such pure and clear jumps. I love the aesthetics of a big cleanly executed jump: speed into the take-off, tight air position, high elevation and smooth running edge on the landing.

I'll give her credit for out-Tanoing even Medvedeva. She put a Tano on every triple and even two arms up on the last Triple Salchow. :laugh2:

Oh lord. Medvedeva has started a trend that I don't like at all...

Indeed. I dont like it either . However , thats how she beated the World Record of Yuna kim , Imo. I mean , now , because of Medvedeva will be unbeatable unless some other skaters start using tanos too , we are going to see the new generation only with tanos. When i see Juniors i pray to see jumps with NO tanos. Like Marin for example. Whereas in Zgitova every jump with tanos and rippons ...meehh.. i dont know. HOWEVER , i prefer tanos of Young You rather than Medvedevas. Youngs seems to me softer , she jumps with more fluidity than Medvedeva and her hand above her head is more beautiful than the one of Meds. Thats my opinion clearly.

The way to beat the Highest Score (there are NO WRs in Figure Skating!) doesn't have to lead through tanos or rippons. You can always learn 3A, like Rika Kihira  I don't mind one or two tanos in program, when they highlight the jump element of program, but excessive use of them makes me indifferent to them. Just like I really don't like doing all jumps in second half. It's as bad as jumping them all in first half. Both ways program is unbalanced. Young is very ambitious lady, but I'll wait with opinions after her JGP debut, she has some time to learn and improve left :) I will definitely keep my eye on her till the day comes :hap10:

I always hear speakers in the live streaming telling ( when something like that happens of course ) that we have a new world record for junior ladies for exampmle , dont they ?? As for Young Yoo i really hope they wont pressure her that much from the media like they did for Yuna Kim. And , IMO , Young Yoo is Young Yoo , not another promising Yuna kim or the next Yuna Kim. It is a category of her own , as Kihira for example ( a lot say she is the next Mao ). This is unfair for those kids. I am not implying that giving you a title similar to Yuna Kim is not a WOW thing , BUT those skaters are unique. They are the way they are , not the next of someone who we oved in the past as a competitive figure skater.
