Incredible! Is it allowed in the competition?

Incredible! Is it allowed in the competition?

Nope. I mean, yes, but it doesn't count, if there are three 3T. They always do harder combos during the trainings to feel more consistent at competitions, knowing you can do more at training than you have to show at competition.

3+3+3 combo is allowed (Kevin van der Perren did it, Sakhanovich did it at local competitions), but means repeated 3T. Skaters prefer to repeat jumps with higher base value.

Scherbakova if at good state can more.
At November 2016 in Gala she performed her FS in "forced" version - 3Lz+3T+3T, 3F+3T, 2A+3T, 3Lo, 3S, 3Lz+3T, 2A+3T. All in second half.

See complicated entries and exits and very nice choreo and good spins too.

Other girls also can do much.
At Nationals practice Panenkova performed combo of four triples. Eteri told "Alina, answer!" and Zagitova made combo of five triples.

Anya being able to do 3-3-3 already is actually very surprising and encouraging at the same time! That must mean she's getting quite close to her last season's shape. I guess it's going to take at least the next season until she catches up to her expected improvement also, however.

I also think I really need to step up my Instagram game - I'll take a look at these practice run-throughs myself.

Could you record it and upload after? I have no idea about what they're talking about. There are no sharovs stories or whatever. It's probably instagram's broadcasting but this ISN'T stories. 😠

Can't really record live streams on IG as far as I know. Her rotation speed looks better than 2 weeks ago if I had to estimate. The height still isn't really there, though. Let's just hope she does better here than 2 weeks ago!

On Trusova, she looked super stable. And that 4S could be her best one yet. Might not even be UR. You'd hope that she manages to land a clean one in competition this season.

Edit: Nevermind, got them.

Yeah, considering her age she must be in, but seems like federation doesn't consider her as a junior skater, same with ABBA.

It doesn't go by age, but whether they participated in the Junior or the Senior Russian Cup comps. In the case of Mikhailova (ABBA girl) and Tarusina, both participated in Senior Russian Cup rather than Junior, so went to Sr Nats, but didn't get JGP which is the other means (besides Russian Cup) to get to Jr Nats.
The surprise is Kurakova -- she was 1st and 3rd in her two Junior level Russian Cup outings, which should be more than good enough to qualify. Anyone know a reason for her to withdraw?

No, both Tarusina and Mikhailova did not try to qualify to JrNats.

Tarusina did not get JGP Events, and at Russian Cup only Pairs may compete both as Seniors and Juniors, singles and Dance - only as Juniors or Seniors. Tarusina qualified as Senior and was at SrNats.

Mikhailova before she got Rostelecom Cup spot competed as Senior at 1st Event of Russian Cup, so she could not qualify to JrNats at Junior Russian Cup.

JGP Finalists are qualified to both Junior and Senior (if age eligible) Nats.
JGP partisipants are qualified to JrNats and may qualify to SrNats by Russian Cup (if age eligible).
GP participants are qualified to SrNats. In theory they may qualify to JrNats by Russian Cup Events but never do so.
Only Pairs may qualify to both Nats by Russian Cup Events. Mishina-Galliamov did it.

They are allowed to compete only at junior or senior Russian cups. She chose senior Russian cups so she qualified to senior nationals, but lost the chance to qualify to junior nationals. The only skaters who can do both nationals are those who had a JGP events so they qualified to junior nationals through JGP and to senior nationals through getting to JGPF or doing senior Russian cups.

Okay thanks for the info! (and to AlexRus & puremagic too......)
Makes sense.

Thanks for clarification!

But I'm still waiting some information about Katia Kurakova. She was participating in Averbukh's shows, then that video with 4S+3T (yeah, very URed, but still) it was two days ago! And now she's not in the list. Did she suddenly get injured at training of 4S? Or what? What the hell...

I really want Liza to be back in the picture again. Her artistry and skating skills are the best! Hope she’s cleaned up her lutz though.
