Ah, didn't realise this was starting today. For some reason, I had it in my head that there was another week to go before it started.

Due to there being so many motorbikes on this weekend, I am not able to watch today. But, I'll join in tomorrow. I always like watching the Adult skaters.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

Gary Beacom is still going strong, it seems. Still taking part.

I just checked, and Gary's 66.

The oldest skater taking part this year, Jana PŘIBYLOVÁ (CZE), turns 80 a few days after the event ends:

So, all being well, we could well see Gary for many more years to come!

:jump3::love4::scream::love3: for her! I live in hope I can do the same. Another 20ish years or so on the ice? Wheeee! (My first coach, my grandmother's cousin, lived to be 103 and was still on skates in her 90s, albeit a decorous circuit of the Prelim dances supported by a strong young coach/partner, who was far more nervous than she was :))

I don't think he will do 'I'm your man' but I did watch a version of it in the thread about what's missing in current FS in The Edge!

Day 2 of the Adult skating from Oberstdorf starts now with the youngest of the Silver Ladies doing their Free Skates. A whole 34 of them!

The day is rather jumbled, jumping between "normal" Free Skates and Artistic Free Skates. And between Ladies and Men. And between Levels; and between Classes. There doesn't seem to be any logic to it. But, it'll still be good!

Livestream for the Silver I Ladies FS competition is now on air

Here is the link for the stream for the first half of today:

https://sporteurope.tv/deutsche-eislauf-union/isu-adult-fsc-2026-monday-may-18th-part-1

As the stream is on Sport Deutschland, you may be asked to disable your Ad-blocker. But, it is nothing to be concerned about. The stream cannot be paused or re-wound while it is broadcasting, but the full functionality is available once the stream is archived.

All the other links you may need are in the OP.

Hope this helps

Erm, I thought the minimum age for Adult skating was 28. There is nobody going to tell me that the second skater, Kathleen GRANDCHAMP (CAN), is anywhere near that old! She barely even looks 20! 😲

She is wearing a beautiful red dress, with the top of it shaped like two maple leaves. And skating to "Proud Mary" by Ike and Tina Turner.

I loved everything about that programme!!!

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

Madeline STUMPF (GBR) is another skater that you would think is too young for Adult skating. I was intrigued by her name, so I did some digging and it appears that she belongs to a club in Amsterdam. So, she may actually be Dutch.

I enjoyed that programme too.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

What a strange cover of "Seven Nation Army" Olena SHEVCHENKO (UKR) was skating to.

And what a beautiful red dress with black pattern she was wearing!

Like the Canadian that is currently leading, this girl barely looks out of her teens.

Definitely the best so far.

And definitely the biggest crowd with her in the results area!

What?! She goes into 6th and last position?! :jaw:

Shows you what I know!

Such a pity the livescoring isn't working. It might help me understand.

Onto Group 2.

CaroLiza_fan

Marylise CANNAVO (ITA) is wearing a beautiful black dress.

I was going to say that she was skating to a beautiful accoustic version of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way". But about a third of the way through the programme it turned into the original version. I would have preferred it to stick to the original version.

I enjoyed that.

She definitely reminds me of another skater. But I can't think who.

Awwww. Amongst the supporters sitting with her is a team-mate. After giving Marylise a massive hug, she left early. So, I suspect she is the other Italian skating at the end of this group, Silvia SCANAVIN (ITA).

And I missed what position she went into.

CaroLiza_fan

Oh, first withdrawal of the day. #9 Reelika VALLAS (EST)

So straight onto the second British skater, Seren TUDOR (GBR).

And our first Middle Eastern programme of the day!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

She is wearing a very Middle Eastern costume. The top is mainly white, but the rest of it is a beautiful shade of blue. To be honest, I think it would have suited the theme better if it was all blue. But, it still worked.

I really enjoyed that.

She goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

What on Earth?!

I was really enjoying that programme from Linn JOHANSSON (SWE).

And then it turned into a female techno cover of Toto's "Africa". 🙉

No. Just no.

She was wearing a beautiful dress in a couple of shades of light blue (similar to the shade used in the Swedish flag).

She goes into 4th position. And she and her two coaches are absolutely delighted!

CaroLiza_fan

Yep, that was Silvia SCANAVIN (ITA) with Marylise CANNAVO (ITA) earlier.

She was wearing a beautiful white dress that blended into the ice and the boards far too well.

She was skating to a female cover of Coldplay's "Fix You".

Everything about that programme was just beautiful.

I would say it will definitely go into the lead, but you saw what happened the last time I said that.

Marylise and two coaches are sitting with her.

As I suspected, I was wrong. She goes into 8th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Oh, I was expecting a resurfacing. But, we go onto Group 3.

Ah, there is an updated Time Schedule PDF for today that includes the resurfacings. The first isn't until after this competition ends. :jaw:

34 skaters before a resurfacing?! I feel so sorry for those going in the later groups.

CaroLiza_fan

RIght, I've given up judging ages. Because all the skaters look much younger than 28!

The third of the British skaters, Nicole STELEA (GBR), is wearing a beautiful turquoise dress. And skating to beautiful music (I should remember what it is called, but I don't).

Everything about that programme was beautiful.

A massive crowd with her in the results area.

She goes into 14th and last position.

Right, there's something else I should give up on. Trying to guess where the skaters are going to slot in. Because I am consistently putting them a lot higher than the people that actually count.

CaroLiza_fan

And another beautiful programme in a row to music I can't remember the name of!

This time it was Ege ERGAZI (TUR), skating to a song in French that I am pretty sure was from Céline Dion.

She is wearing a red dress with black trim.

That was beautiful.

I think the announcer said third position. I was looking away from the screen writing this when the graphic was up.

CaroLiza_fan

Gaaah!!!! After two programmes to beautiful music, we get our first "Tango De Roxanne" :bang: :bang: :bang:

And then it cut out abruptly before Jesica ZABLAH (MEX) was finished. So abruptly that I am not actually sure if it was actualy the end of the music and that she was over-running, or if there was a problem with the CD.

She was wearing a beautiful black dress. And the skating was good.

Big crowd with her. And a VERY big flag.

She goes into 12th position.

She wasn't sure how to react.

CaroLiza_fan

Ah, the third Italian skater, Veronica ZAPPAROLI (ITA) is sandwiched by Mexican skaters.

She is wearing a beautiful magenta dress.

I don't know the song, but it really worked.

And all the people that were in the results area for the previous two Italian skaters are with her (two coaches and the two skaters).

And now, after writing that, I've forgotten what position she's gone into! :drama:
