What do you think about the famous gymnast (who placed first in one event) being omitted from the men's team? Do you think this gymnast will still try to make the Olympic team or hang it up?

If you're talking about Paul Hamm, he didn't want to be a part of the team even though USA Gymnastics wanted him on it.

This was the first gymnastics competition I watched in at least a year, and was anyone else totally confused by the new gymnastics CoP/judging system? It seems to be similar to the new skating scoring system, but they certainly didn't do a good job at explaining exactly how it worked, IMO!

I was also  at how many gymnasts were allowed to file petitions for higher scores.

That being said, I still enjoyed the competition and was especially impressed by Nastia Liukin (even though it wasn't her best meet), Ivana Hong, and Shawn Johnson.

I'm also looking forward to watching gymnastics Worlds for the first time in I can't remember how many years. This will be the first time seeing gymnasts from outside the US since the 2004 Olympics.
