I may be out of the loop, but are 2009 Worlds still being held in LA? I'm looking for a link to buy tickets and I can't find one!

Thanks.

yes they are here in LA, and the tics are for sale now. I remeber seeing the prices somwhere, and yes.... they are very expensive.

Does anyone have a link or something?
Soem of us form my rink are planning on going and I would love(or hate) to see the price. lol

There will be plenty of skating celebs there and that's good enough for me!

So, right now, tickets are only available with tour packages? Does anyone have any idea when the regular ticket packages go on sale? In the past, haven't tickets been available a year or more in advance?

for the good seats its over 2,000 for the entire event package. I do not know if this includes pratices... dosen't say that it does.

WOW, espensive.
I hope that maybe I can figrue out later if I can just get long program tickets or find anoth way to make it less expensive.............

Yes do these prices include practice sessions?

Anyway, if I do save up enough money to go..I will be sitting in the nosebleed section so I will bring lots of tissues!!

Thank you for the link. I'm amazed at the percentage of the arena where tickets are over $1000! I had decent all-event seats in DC in 2003 for $600+. Now I'm not sure if I'll be going...

Regarding celebs...

Don't be too surprised to see Sandra Oh, who was born and raised in Nepean, Ontario, pop up for at least one event at Worlds next year. Also the actress who plays Phyills on The Young and the Restless, Michelle Stafford. She's a *huge* sports fan who has seasons tickets to the LA Kings and is another Canadian celeb in LA I could see popping up for at least one event.

Then there's Tamara Tunie, who plays M.E. Warner on Law and Order : SVU. It was recently reported in a story on her that she was on the Board of Directors of a program in Harlem for kids to use skating as a way out and up to College and Scholarships. I think it was posted over at FSU if I remember right. At least that's where I think I saw it. She used to be on a soap I watched back in College and I remembered thinking then she was far better than a soap, so have followed her career. Was surprised to hear about her link to skating though as she's never really broadcasted it in any interviews.

Anyway...There's three celebs I can easily see walking around at LA Worlds.

Do some comparing.

Check out the seating chart which lists the cost of the section. (extremely high in some section). Which section do you pick? then add the costs of a hotel room, Travel to and from the Arena, Now compare with a Tour Group cost.

As an example my tour costs $3,198 for double occupancy at a luxury hotel but travel to and from Arena is included as well as all breakfasts and a Welcome and Farewell Dinners are included The group seating in the Arena is said to be prime seating. Usually this company does city tours when you are there which is included, and may arrange for a few champions to show up at the farewell dinner.

Seating and luxury I will have to judge when I am there

Doing it on your own, or with a tour company, you will have to incur the costs of Air Travel. Always save your mileage for these events.

If your comparison says to do it alone, you will have to do everything yourself. Best to get a roommate with either decision. It's $1200 more for single supplement.

Lambiel fans have a group of their own. Go to his website and see if you can join them and if it's cost effective.

Johnny's Angels, I believe have their own tour group. Check them out.

See you in LaLa Land.

Thank you anniered for the link.

Has anyone ever been inside Staples Center and can give a report on how high the different levels are?

Joe

Joe, I can tell you that the upper level (level 300) is very high up there. There are three levels of luxury boxes. I had to go up two escaltors to get to the upper level.

Anyway, Staples Center site has a seat viewer section here which could be helpful:

I noticed the link for Worlds is a picture of Mirai (at least that's her exhibition dress)! Already getting more attention!

This event would win up costing $5000, (air fare, hotel, tickets) and it's more than I want to spend. I think going to Worlds 2008 in Sweden would actually cost less!

Thanks Purple Cat. The hockey arena is ok to check out. They do a slight variation when it comes to figure skating. Hope I am in a good section. I don't want to strain for flutzings and underrotations
