Why wouldn't it be sufficient?
She did a number of three-turns (not just the standard two that skaters usually do entering a jump) right into the loop.
So there wasn't a single skating movement, there was a number of them.

You clearly have no idea what an irony you just said here, which is actually a very good thing. How did it happen that thanks to one person the Euro SP Ladies thread became one more Osmond thread and bashing Caro/Sotnikova thread?

Gosh, and now we will have a team saying that there is Osmondflation when there is also Sotnikovaflation, Tuktflation and other -flation.
Please say that you don' like young Canadian winning, and stop saying about -Canadianflation, when in my view there is also euro-flation and US-flation and so on and so forth.
Osmond skate very well and is serious contender for a good place at Words, and perhaps for a medal. Saying "flation" won't make it less true.

BTW I very much liked Sotnikova short, and I think that if she won't make any major mistakes she may win the Europeans.

Yep. Carolina Kostner has hands-down, the best 3Loops among the elite ladies currently skating.
I agree.
I do not like this dress at all. The top red part hangs too low and the bottom red also reminded me of red-gloved hands. But the interpretation and musical nuances of this program are awesome.And no, Sotnikova is not going to get "buried" by Osmond if they both skate well.
Sotnikova's skating basics are superior. Osmond is a better performer and she has a very well-choreographed SP. They should be pretty close.

People will always argue inflation in relation to various skaters. However, whatever inflation there may be is normally within sane limits. The reason that people refer to 'Osmondflation' and 'inflation', is that the level of inflation has on occasions gone way beyond what is credible
And no, Sotnikova is not going to get "buried" by Osmond if they both skate well.
Osmond can only beat Sotnikova if Sotnikova makes mistakes. The problem for Sotnikova is that she suffers from nerves and has until now, made a lot of mistakes. Hopefully, with today's SP, Sotnikova has now turned a corner and will become far more consistent.

I really hope that the Helgesson sisters can hold on to their placements (a medal would be even more awesome but that's not really realistic) and earn 3 spots for Sweden so that Isabelle Olson can go to Euros as well next year.

30 skaters achieved over 40 points! I wish all of them could qualify.
Could be because many of them trained hard to get the minimum techs for worlds. Some tried difficult elements but screw them, like Elene G, Glebova and Meite. Laenelle G-G and Weinzierl were impressing.
Happy for Anne Line from Norway to make her first Euro final. The Danish girl Anita was a new promising skater for me. Nordics will be a good competition for senior ladies :yes:
Valentina was priceless in K&C, happy for her. Adelina was fabulous. Carolina is in a league on her own for me despite her fall.
Wallylutz, really; Why don't you start a new thread when you want to discuss Adelina/Kostner versus Osmond? Let the European ladies have their moments here.

I don't agree that Osmondflation is on the same level of inflation. inflation is going down anyway, and Osmond has never won a competition with a 3-fall program. She fell once at Canadian Nats, yeah, but she was mainly competing against a not-her-best Amelie Lacoste and two younger girls, one not even old enough for senior competition yet!
sorry if I didn't read everything...still she meets every requirementa with those turns...it's not me who says this but judges and their scores...

Back OT...
I just watched Valentina: really wonderful program! It was just as good as her SA performance. There's something about this program when she performs it like this...she really draws you in. I loved it! Hopefully she'll have a strong LP and place 4th. As much as I enjoy her skating, she doesn't have the technical firepower to beat Liza T or Adelina. If one of them has a rough LP Valentina may be able to sneak onto the podium. If not, 4th place is an excellent finish.
ETA: OMG, how cute was she in the K&C? You could tell she was really shocked by her good score. She probably didn't expect to be ahead of Liza T or in the top 3 heading into the LP. I'm so happy for her!

Perhaps it's because a single spread eagle or spiral-movement isn't very involved in complicated edging...whereas the turns Carolina does switches edges AND directions while going into her 3Lo...
I wonder if the purpose of the rules is to set a sufficient level of difficulty for a solo jump? Isn't Carolina's 3Lo entry difficult enough?

Kostner is so stunning! She has the best command of the ice and the best expression of any current ladies competitor in the world, IMO. It's a real shame she lost speed on the landing of the 1st triple toe and didn't have enough snap to land the 2nd triple toe in the combination jump pass. This is hands down the best ladies SP in the world this season I believe. LOVE her musicality, the use of her arms, the always exquisite footwork. Her jumps are FIRST RATE when she hits them! 
well...it's not only most people here but hundreds of judges who have been in the panel at the competitions she attended...

Ever since I joined this forum, I have been avoiding the competition threads, as I thought they would be full of terminology that I didn't understand. But, I strayed into this one today, and I discovered another reason for avoid them!
For (Triple-)Flip Sake! This isn’t a competition thread. This is a “slag off the Russian teenagers” thread!
OK, so the descriptions of the routines are very useful, as were the complaints about losing pictures on the live streams. But, the number of comments criticising the Russian girls is getting ridiculous.
Like, before the competition even started, some people were saying “Oh, Adelina’s going to crack up today”. So, what does she do? She goes out and wins the Short Programme!
But instead of congratulating her, these people were saying “Oh, she’ll crack up in the Free instead”
For goodness sake, give the girl a break! Adelina is one of the best young skaters we have had in recent years. So, why are some people being so critical of her? Are they jealous? Are they trying to destroy her confidence and drag her down?!
It’s the same with my beloved Liza. Although most of the criticism seems to be directed towards Adelina, Liza is also being described as a “bad skater”! What?! Have you seen her results for the past 4 or 5 years?!
I know I’ve already said this about Adelina, but Liza is also one of the best young skaters we have had in recent years!
I remember reading similar unnecessary criticism about the Russian girls before in a different thread shortly after I joined, and I replied saying:
Well, I re-iterate that here now!
Earlier on in this thread, I said:
Now, I am going to add:
LEAVE ADELINA AND LIZA ALONE!!! THEY ARE TEENAGE GIRLS - THEY NEED SUPPORT, NOT UNNECESSARY CRITICISM!!!
Skaters are not robots – they can have off-days like the rest of us. Just look at Carolina Kostner – one day she can be brilliant, but the next day she can be awful.
Skaters are not infallible – they can make mistakes. And making mistakes is not always a bad thing – it can help them learn.
Skaters are real people with real feelings.
So, please think of their feelings before you criticise them unnecessarily!
