2013 Europeans Men - Short Program

He doesn't skate like that all the time. He went clean at RN for instance, quad included.(in the SP). This is the first time I see him fall in ages! But he is clearly not in his best shape and I wonder if he will ever be :disapp:
He actually fell in a 2A at the JO this fall!

Zoltan KELEMEN (ROU)

Music: Rich Man's Frug from "Sweet Charity" (musical soundtrack)

3A
3F+3T - foot down, maybe UR on 3T
3Lz

CCSp - messes up changefoot, not enough rot. on the other foot
StSq
CCoSp - wobble on camel

Score: 29.40 + 28.04 = 57.44, and into 7th (out of 19)

Javier goes clean but no 3-3. 4S was gorgeous, 3A was amazing, 3Lz-2T was OK he didn't have much flow after the 3Lz and he only added a 2T. But this will lead big time.

Javier FERNANDEZ (ESP)

Music: The Mask of Zorro (soundtrack) by James Horner

4S
3A
FUSp

Strong skate. No 3-3, but clean jumps. Should take the lead easily...

He's got inspiration from Hanyu - Fernandez has a Mickey Mouse tissue box!

Score 46.87 + 41.93 = 88.80 (PB), and into 1st (out of 20)

Well done, Javi!

(I'm still heartbroken - but at least I don't have to be MORE heartbroken. Well - yet. Depends on Brian.... )

3A - ok, a bit scratchy
FUSp

Two big mistakes...

Score: 33.27 + 36.71 - 1.00 = 68.99 (SB), and into 3rd (out of 21)

Verner... :bang:

I can't remember the last time I saw him with a good program. I am tired to be sorry for him, I seriously can't watch him skate anymore. And I used to love his skating but he is a lost case. He gave 0 fight for that quad which looked good in the air

And for the combo, too: he could easily add a 3T to that 2F...

This competition is sad to watch. Japanesse Nationals was way way way more competitive than what we are seeing so far. Javier is Europe's pride and joy right now

I think even with the US men down at the moment there is more depth there quite frankly.

Yep, I think that is fair. I don't expect much from the last group, they all have potential to be good or to have an epic meltdown

He's got a wild and unpolished appearance on the ice, but at least he finally landed the jumps

Score: 40.04 + 34.25 = 74.29 (PB), and into 3rd (out of 24)
