2014 Olympics Ladies Free Skate

Gracie is the American who could become the fearless, unbeatable diva Ashley Wagner wishes she was. She just needs Adelina to teach her how to land her Flips and how to do 3-3Loop combinations.

That's funny since Adelina has had problems with her triple flips until recently. They were a mess until the last couple competitions..

I was being sarcastic. I know that she has fallen on all her triple flips before. The 3-3Loop combination part not so much but I am still not forgiving Adelina for abandoning that combination for a 3Lz-3T of inferior quality to the beautiful 3Lz-3Lo she landed at the GPF.

I am still hurt that Mao did not win the free skate. I am devastated that it was deemed 8 points lower than the winner. I'm going to puke.

I agree, and feel the same way, but look at it from a different perspective it's clear where these 8 points + came from and to what purpose they were made ;)

I was talking about 2016 Worlds in Boston,

By then for sure Gracie and or Polina (Ashley?) will be ripe for Worlds domination

Thanks, now I get it. You're definitely thinking ahead! Not so sure re: Ashley but definitely Gracie or Polina or both. Still, whoever wins and from whatever country, the only thing that matters is that the event is judged honestly. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

I am similarly hurt that Mao isn't an OGM like my favourite Yuna. To think, if Mao skated a clean SP and did her LP she still would NOT have won. It's too much.

Mao sp was unfortunate, but the way she came back and nailed her 8-triple layout at the Olympics and became the first woman to have done so was in a way much more fulfilling and meaningful then any gold medal, she found her own way to leave her mark on the biggest stage once again!

I dearly, dearly wish she had skated a clean SP, bc I want to see how the judges would've tried to place Adelina on that podium, and if Mao was below Adelina, can you imagine the level of ruckus the Japanese Skating Federation would've raised? All the Japanese fans would've been calling for blood. It would be WAY worse than what we're seeing right now since the Japanese Skating Federation actually has pull unlike that of Korea's.

Asada's FS moment will be remembered, The unjust score will help it be remembered better in the community,
Same goes for Kim's and Kostner's skates (Ave maria especially), Which will be remembered a bit more fondly due to the lack of respect they got.
They're underdogs now ;)

In a way i'm happy she wasn't there, Just the thought if my darling Mao being cynically beaten by a home crowd favourite with lesser skills makes me wanna
punch a wall.

And by now we know that either Russian girl that would've gone clean would've been unbeatable by anybody

And then stupid Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski are now justifying this corruption by saying that Yuna's program was not as hard. Well look at Mao she had more triples and she scored 8 points less.

It was definitely more fulfilling than any gold medal. Mao's idol was Midori Ito, another Japanese lady who never won the OGM. Yet from 1988 and 1992, whose Olympic performances are watched more? Midori Ito's brilliant 1988 programs or the Battle of the Carmens (where somehow no one remembers any details from either program)? And do people watch Midori's 1992 FS with the amazing comeback 3A or Kristi Yamaguchi's flawed FS with the so-called artistry which no one cares about in hindsight?

Your post about the blown kiss and hip wiggle meeting dead silence still makes me crack up.

Maybe Ashley just needs Putain's backing.
Fixed that for you. Yes, she could get Russian citizenship, go on tirades against the gays, and change her name to Ashliona Wagniraya. I wonder if she'd break 200 if she took these steps. I doubt even that would do it though.

I LOVE Mao, but she lost some points with her under rotated jumps. So she did not have 8 triples fully rotated. She is a legend...

Seems like American figure skating figures are circling the wagons, making sure everyone falls in line so as not to cause controversy.

God, If Mao was at the final flight too and laid out the same free and then all of the top three got simultaneously defeated in less than an hour of each other, that would've hurt even more.

Nah. I wish that would've happened bc then people would have to fish for some other reason why Sotnikova won than "she had more jumps!" The fix would've been way more apparent (even though Idk how anyone cannot see the fix right now)
