2014 Worlds - Ladies Short Program

I am perfectly happy if the top 3 stay the way it is in FS, except maybe by some miracle Akiko sneaked back into 3rd. I'd love a veteran podium, the youngsters will get their chance.

Fine. Let's keep it to the "current actual competition." Let's see. Anna is in the top 6, less than 4 points behind Gracie. That's about one level 3 spin. Oh yes, massive injustice. And there is still the LP to go. Sorry if my heart isn't bleeding for you. But then again, I'm a special case.

Something that does not exist, can not bleed.

You're forgiven. :D

Congrats to all pleased fans :)

As long as Yulia skates clean I'll happily root for that. I'm not in this for the medals. I just enjoy the skating. Whoever it is laying it down! Kanako was one of my favorites today.

Still, the ice is slippery ;)

True. But I think Julia without the pressure of Sochi will be relaxed cool and clean. I also think Caro has nothing to loose so it is likely she can recreate her Sochi skate. The only one who I'm still afraid for is Mao. She isn't that far ahead that she can allow herself any mistakes at all, imho. Huge pressure for Mao once more. But I don't think she will fall out of the medals. There seems to be no place for Akiko in this scenario. But yes, anything could happen, I just don't think it will.

Both Akiko and Julia flutzed and got away with it.

Ashley should stop attempting the 3F-3T. She cannot rotate that 3T. I haven't seen the protocol yet, but the 3T was about half a rotation short, so I wouldn't be surprised if it got downgraded (<<.)

LMFAO, I love me some Pogo but claiming she should be ahead of Kostner is what I call stretching it.

Pogorilaya had a very well executed short program. I was quite surprised when I saw it. Certainly one of the best I've seen this season. Her TES should(not could) have been higher than Kostner. I have seen enough of Kostner's programs to know that what Pogorilaya delivered should have earned higher TES than Kostner's. So that leaves PCS which the judges want to make me believe is a difference between a prima ballerina and a matron in a dance club.

Gracie was underscored

I don't necessarily agree on that but I think It would've been amazing to have her closer to Lipnistkaia for a battle of the youngsters for that bronze medal.

Having said that, both Caro and Mao should look out for Julia. If she goes clean and the top two skaters make mistakes, she'll surely sneak in higher on the podium.
