I am glad that Lozko is doing fine. She is my favorite among the new crop. What's wrong with Gubanova? She had very strong start of the season and now another weak performance. Too early for puberty. Injury? Lack of motivation?

She always had not stable jumps. :( I mean, in the last successful performances all her jumps were not clean, I wondered how she still pulls jumps so stable. She really needs a new coach. Tutberidze, Mishin or Tarasova.

You don't change coaches just because of a couple poor performances. Prior to Junior Nationals, she was very good and very consistent. If the problems are related to puberty or injury, then changing coaches would make no difference.

No, no, I didn't mean last two competitions. I said last successful performances. Her jumps didn't look confident. :( That's why she needs another coach. :(

Gubanova is 13 so she's not too young to be affected by a growthspurt and/or puberty. Serafima had some struggles around the same age and she was tiny too.

Anyways, Gubanova maybe needs to cool it with the 3lo combos. They are so hard to get ratified these days anyways and also seem to be more risky from an injury standpoint compared to 3t combos. I feel she may be missing her 3lz so often because she's trying to land with her free leg in front for the 3lo combo. I remember when Adelina debuted on the GP she kept having the same problem.

Gubanova has amazing power and jumping ability, but maybe she needs a new set of eyes on her. Also, hasn't she been wearing a knee brace all season? She might be injured or something.

It's not so easy to change coach. Of the three that you suggested, TAT doesn't coach anymore, Eteri won't be able to help her with technique and Mishin is unlikely to take her. Even if he does, she would still only end up working with his wife and competing with several other girls/boys for Mishina's time/attention. The best that Turenko can do for her is to either bring in a specialist or send her to a summer training camp run by someone like Mishin. But that requires additional funding, which is another problem in itself.

Gubanova's technique was never solid
she mule kicks her toe picks and has that strange forced take off like Gosviani - they have the same original coach

on a good note: Samodurova is looking to secure of getting 2 JGP spots next season

Gosviani's original coach up to the age of 13 was Golubeva. She already had a 3lz by the time she went to Urmanov's group so Turenko did not teach her 3lz.

She really needs a new coach. Tutberidze, Mishin or Tarasova.

She should go Tutberidze. She would gain the consistency she needs to make the junior championships and then be a top contender in seniors. No other Russian coach I can think of would be able to do that for her.

Gubanova was meant to be the biggest competitor to Tsurskaya. Why would Tutberidze want to take that on? Having Serafima and Evgenia together did not work that great and Serafima moved out just a year after she came in. Similarly, it was hard for Lipnitskaya to have Serafima and Evgenia constantly nipping at her heels. Tsurskaya is currently doing well and Tutberidze is building the next wave of girls when Tsurskaya can move to seniors. Why would Tutberidze want to mess up with Tsurskaya for someone who is struggling anyway?

Well I think that it actually worked quite well for Serafima, at least from the technical point of view, since her year with Tutberidze has been her best year of all so far... Then of course I don't know if she was personally under pressure or if she felt overlooked in favour of Evgenia

I thought Leonova and Lipnitskaya were competing? I don't see their names on the SP results list?

This is the Championships of SPB, Leonova and Yulia are competing at the Russian Cup Final.

Ah, ok, thanks for clarifying. I thought Serafima was competing at the Russian Cup Final as well, but I may have gotten the competitions mixed up. The Russian Cup final is this weekend yes?
