2015-16 Russian Test skates

Does anyone know results of the stage 2 russian competition? I thought YM were supposed to compete?

So who is the top Russian dance team?

Having reigning Russian Champions Ilinykh & Zhiganshin fighting for keeping their position against former Russian Champions Bobrova & Soloviev looks to be the most likely situation…M&K, S&B and Y&M were not able to overskate or overdanced those two couples at Test Skate.

Are there two teams strong enough to win a third spot?

Any combination of:
1. B&S,
2. I&Z,
3. M&K / S&B showing clean skate would be able to get three spots.

Don’t forget in what situation Russians lost their third spot this season…
…I&Z made a mistake in Twizzles and judges once again went down with GOE and Components since that moment (which was not too fair)…
…S&B had a fall during Step Sequence in SD…
…M&K skated two clean programs, but they were Russian number 3 entering this competition and marks were reflecting this – judges were ready for clean S&B, not M&K…

So two major mistakes done by Russian number 1 and 2 caused loss of third spot. This was not a situation when couples showed the performances of their lives and it still was not enough.

Can any of the dance teams podium this year at world's?

European Champions always have a great chance to get medal at World Championships, just notice past season’s results (Papadakis & Cizeron in 2015, Cappellini & Lanotte in 2014, Bobrova & Soloviev in 2013, Pechalat & Bourzat in 2012 and almost in 2011). I think that I&Z and B&S have the strongest programs from all top European couples (we still didn’t see Papadakis & Cizeron), so if they will be able to grab Gold medal in Bratislava, the door are open at World Championships.

Are B and S another Domina and Shabalin with the injury issue?

No! No coach and probably even people in Federation will never ever ignore an injury which led to a situation that Maxim Shabalin had to skate Olympic programs (and whole 2009/10 season) with 3. grade artrosis in knee.
I also didn’t meet any other skater who would be able to overcome such pain and skated with it like Maxim did.
