2016-17 Russian Qualifiers and other events

Third Russian cup - Davankova versus Stavitskaya in senior ice dance. Let's see if Shibnev is able to get better results with Davankova (and her hubby) than with Stavitskaya.

Liza was clean but she has deteriorated her skating skills.
PCS was too high; in international her FS will be around 128-130

Poor Maria Artemieva. A very nice short programme to finish 2nd, the judges could have been more generous with her PCS, but a disastrous free skate placing 14th with a score of 87.07. In the protocol she had a TES of 33.91 (16 out of 17) with 5 deductions.

I read on FSO that Tsurskaya and Sotskova will be there. But on entries list I dont see them. Zagitova and Konstantinova will skate on seniors, Shcherbakova, Kurakova and Vasilieva on juniors.
On this channel are the videos: https://m.youtube.com/user/TheFSRus...zwIVyHEYCh3DNgyr&client=mv-google&gl=PL&hl=pl

Maria gave an interview saying she wants to make sure she is ready for TdF and will get feedback in Perm but I guess her plans changed.

of the 3 new paired ice dance couples, they are all equal
nothing to rave about their skating skills... :slink:

They are not the same. Davankova/Shibnev are clearly best. I suppose it helps to have free access to a skating coach 24/7.

Only because they are skating the elements at a snails pace. Easy to be clean when you do that.

Don't kid yourself. Considering how long she has been doing pairs, I wouldn't be surprised if next season the federation give them a GP event... they will be ready.

I'm sorry but there are only 4 russian ice dancers which have commendable speed and skating skills:

rating for speed.
1 Bobrova / Soloviev
2 Stepanova / Bukin
3 Shpivelaya / Smirnov
4 Sinitsina / Katsapalov

Well, I am glad you have sense of humour, but don't let the facts get in your way.
