Interesting how baby Shcherbakova will do after injury - I don't think she's ever competed in such tough field.

This baby is "baby champion of Russia" - she won Zhuk Memorial about an year ago, being first of all best Russian girls born at 2003-2004. She practices together with Medvedeva and Zagitova, many times competed with Trusova, Panenkova, Gulyakova, Kurakova etc - best juniors and novices.
The only problem for her - is she in good state after injury.

How much influence does the result of RCF final have on next year's JGP assignments?

Significant influence. It is one of four national events which influence - JrNationals, Final of Russian Cup (Junor), Natonals Younger Age (Zhuk Memorial), Nationals Elder Age. Junior National Team is made on results of these competitions, and if you are not in National Team your chance to JGP is very poor.

The only problem for her - is she in good state after injury.

I don't know if this is true or not but some people have said that her withdrawn from Junior Nationals was a mistake made by her coaches because by the time of the Junior Nationals she had had a plastic off her arm about a week and she had no problems with jumps whatsoever. However by the time they realize this it was too late fix anything and so she couldn't take part for the junior nationals. But like I said I don't know if this is true or not.

I am not 100 % sure but I think Appollinariya just jumped her 1st ever 2A. If I recall before this day she was just like Nastia Gubanova who couldn't jump 2A.

To me, Davankova/Shibnev are much more watchable than Popova/Mozgov. Popova/Mozgov seem to be aesthetically mismatched - a bit like watching Duhamel/Radford, which may not be an issue in pairs, but it is quite important in ice dance.

What's going on with Chuzhanova/Mintsev? They qualified into both senior and junior nationals, and did not compete in either. They seem somewhat unlucky with the nationals because they did not compete there last year either.
