2016-17 Russian Qualifiers and other events

Couple of preliminary entry lists.

Nationals Younger Age (Zhuk Memorial) 03-07 Mar 2017, Saransk

As one can see there are only about 12 names per disciplines at the moment. Eventually there will be about 24 names per disciplines.

Nationals Elder Age, 01-04 Apr 2017, Veliky Novgorod

Same as above and also there are no pairs and ice dance teams yet.

Not much info there yet, only schedule. Anyway, this is an important competition because TOP 6 will qualify for Nationals Elder age.

Entries are up, although the link for men' entries doesn't work at the moment.

Very high quality ladies event as expected - Shcherbakova, Panenkova, Trusova, Tarakanova, Gulyakova, Tarusina and so on.
Atakhanova/Spiridonov and Kudryavtseva/Simenenko will skate here also, and Loboda/Drozd.

Men are also up. Kunitsa - first competition after injury.

If only six can qualify for those B nationals, it is crazy that someone from Sherbakova, Panenkova, Trusova, Tarusina, Tarakanova, Guliakova and Vasilieva will not qualify for those 'weaker' junior nationals. Saying that, I am not sure why Trusova with her 4th place at the junior nationals and third place at the Russian Cup Final feels that she needs to compete at the second nationals. Surely she has already a spot on the junior team for the next year guaranteed.

2nd group is up soon. Dasha Panenkova and Alena Kanysheva will skate in this group among others.
 
5th group is up next. Trusova and Gulyakova will skate in this group. Shcherbakova and Tarusina will skate in the 6th group.
 
Shcherbakova was stuck in traffic and showed up too late. :shame:
