2016-2017 State of Canadian Figure Skating

:thank:siberia82..... Patrick Chan just made me cry from watching a freakin' VIDEO!!!! I just can't say enough about how he uses his entire body to express and interpret music. I love him as a dancer and as a vocalist, I love the way he brings music to life. Spectacular!!! This field is so deep that I will be thrilled if he gets on the podium but, if he were to win another Championship......I could literally kill me....In a good way. OK, That was weird, but you know what I mean...:confused2:

mrrice, if you read my post in the fan fest, you will see that you are not the only one to cry here..... i am still in shock...

I won't cross post because the post really belongs to the fan fest... .all i will say is that Patrick brought me to yet another level of communion between art and humanity.

Never another skater, and I have loved many, has provided such an experience to me and in such a deep way.

I LOVE YOU PATRICK... and KEVIN slayed 18 in a row... and I think one more later on to access the second last flight. Yup... skating in the first flight but managing a huge 84 points from there. So proud of our boys... not going to watch pairs... if i can... I am emotionally drained. I also have to work later today and what I do today, requires a lot of generosity.... my heart will remain open all day, but i am not sure i will have the stamina.

OUF... i think i will need more pasta ;)

My friend 4ever..."you were only waiting for this moment to arise". ;)

I didn't see any of the pairs but, I must say I'm shocked at the results. It looks like things didn't go well for the Canadians and they went even worse for the lone US pair.

Luba had a fall on the SBS jump combo and they lost some levels. Seguin/Bilodeau were clean but went out of synch in their SBS spins. They really did well and would have placed higher were they not at tier 4 for PCS. Meagan and Eric struggled with various things but considering his hip injury and her ankle issues they did their current best. A few more points and they'd be in 5th. The most important thing: 3 spots for the Olympics and no major injuries from this competition. Time to heal up and get choreographing on some amazing, non-cheesy programs.

I'm just gutted for Meagan and Eric today. :( They must be so dissapointed, regardless of Eric's injury. Hopefully he will take all the time he needs to recover within the off season and they will come back with a burst of competitive fire for the Olympic season. I want to see them on that podium!!!

As for Patrick's SP today, yassssss! PChiddy you beast!!! When he hit that 3A, I was jumping up and down on my couch, Tom Cruise style. I really hope he can medal.

I wonder if Meagan and Eric will perform in Stars on Ice and attend the seminar in Northern Ontario? They need a break more than anything, really.

I am very proud of the Canadian skaters at this Worlds. While waiting and hoping for excellent follow ups in the LP competitions from our Ladies and Men, we can celebrate our Pairs pulling together to get us 3 Olympics spots even when our top Pair was impaired with injuries and pain. While Meagan and Eric skated with grits and keen intent to do their remaining job, Luba and Dylan stepped up and together they got the job done for Canada. Kudos and thank you.

Next up, Ice Dance. We all know our 3 teams are among the best in the world and most fans expect Tessa and Scott to win. I believe they will deliver.

I was thrilled to wake up this morning and learn that our pairs held on to the coveted three spots for the Olympics. :) What an accomplishment, especially considering Eric's injury! Even though I am sure that he and Meagan are disappointed with the outcome, they should be very proud of their tenacity in the face of such a debilitating injury. Kudos to Luba and Dylan too on a job well done! I am confident that Julianne and Charlie will come back even stronger next year, after they have had more time to recuperate from Julianne's injury. I think they have a lot of special qualities as a pair.

Our men should be very proud as well! Patrick's program was just phenomenal - relaxed, confident, and technically very sound. :) I personally would have given him higher PCS scores. Kevin definitely did his part, with a very commendable performance. I quite like this program for him. Best of luck to both men in the free skate!

When is Dance going to start. I can't believe the pairs event is over and we still haven't had the SP/OD for the dancers..

The SD starts at 11 am local time, which is 4 am for me (EDT). Tessa and Scott are in group 5, which starts at just before 2 pm local time (7 am EDT).

ETA: are you on the west coast? If so, it would be 1 am for the start and 4 am for Tessa and Scott's group (they are third in it). The last group starts at 5:30 PDT.

Thanks for the information. I've haven't seen any on site/ practice reports on dance yet. I'll head over to the world page and check for some. Thank you..:thank:
