2016 Team Challenge Cup - Gen Info/Pre-chat

My stream won't load, and every time I refresh it it shows me an M&M ad and then freezes so I can't tell if it's over. :gaah: :drama:

It may have been delightfully cheesy and not the most err....um.... professional setting but I actually really enjoyed watching that :slink:

If Ice Network could promise me more nights like that I'd probably cave and buy a subscription

I think I am really glad I didnt go to the Casino and didnt watch INW. Ate dinner and worked on my fan book for tomarrow....
(BTW, the local news just showed little girls from the local skating club at the red carpet....was there anyone else there to watch?)

There is only one pair/dance team per team ....

No. Two pairs per team. Two dance couples per team.

For example, Team North America: Duhamel/Radford + Scimeca/Knierim; and Weaver/Poje + Chock/Bates

But not as much "drama" involved in the composition of the groups for the FD and Pairs FS, b/c what matter for them are regular scores.

For the SPs (limited to men and ladies), what matter are placements within each flight. Thus the "drama" of revealing the SP match-ups.

Meaning, for example:
If Hongo's SP places highest within Flight #2, she would earn 12 placement points for Team Asia.
If Medvedeva's SP places highest within Flight #1, she would earn 12 placement points for Team Europe.
They each would earn 12 placement points. The size of the gap btwn Medvedeva's score and Hongo's score would make absolutely no difference.

I still want to know who's judging? Is it ISU judges just like all ISU events?

They'll have to be ISU official IJS judges or I doubt the ISU would sanction it. My guess is that the judges were there for the backstage show and were downing some bottles of wine.

It still bothers me we dont get to see more pairs and dance and they only get to do their Free skate.....:(

Same. They already shafted dance and pairs by not bringing a third team -- but at least that's understandable because there's two people to every team. The fact that they only get to perform their free skate is just rude IMO. WTT manages to have them do short and free programs, so I really don't get it.

Is there any way to watch the video on an Android tablet? I tried the Dolphin browser and it doesn't work...also, does anyone know what the practice schedule is for tomorrow? Will it be like today with Team NA first, etc?

Haven't watched all the red carpet interviews yet but................
Yeah Ashley - not one "um" in her interview. She speaks really well, has good, intelligent answers and comes off very professional. (broadcasting career??)
And doesn't do that speech thing that many American girls do with the "valley girl" accent (dating myself here) and the lowering of the voice at the end of sentences to a horse growl.

Can somebody who knows how to GIF. please make one of Vornov as he shakes his head when they leave the red carpet interview.

Must be, she just said "from goldenskate.com"!

Yes that's me. I am indeed covering TCC for GS. I am tweeting and writing a few recaps. I hope I do the job justice. And I hope I didn't sound like an idiot on IN.

You did fine....I was confused cause I didnt know you would have an IceNetwork mic and the few glimpses we got of you didnt look like you! LOL! You looked great, mind you....its just that we dont get to see you with your hair down! Its like Elena R. She looks so different with her hair down....much better....big day tomarrow...enjoy the ride!

No question that you are going far beyond doing the job justice, Mrs. P .

Your tweeting from Spokane has been masterful. Thank you so much for everything.

Esp. cool  that you snagged Jason :) on the red carpet ... and that he said Hello to Golden Skate in your video.

(I missed the live IN red carpet stuff ... and the IN interviewer is so inexperienced that watching the archived video is not fun. I am just halfway thru so far, and it is only the prospect of hearing/seeing you that has me interested in going back to watch the second half.)

I'm really bummed about not being able to watch this event live, especially since my time zone is the exact same as Spokane's...

The youtube channel "kyoko 0303" has some videos uploaded, showing some interviews, team intros, and the SP order. You guys should check it out! :yay:

Here is one of the videos. It's the Ladies SP order.
