2016 Team Challenge Cup - Gen Info/Pre-chat

Then how can you explain so much difference all of sudden?

Last modification during worlds, Soyoun was about 50 and Rika was 47. There was only a slight chance of 0.0n% for few days.

And just now, it became totally inverse.
If they removed the fake votes for the 0.0n%, the figure has to be back to 50-47. It's 43-52.
Can you demonstrate about this change?

And you might don't know, Soyoun fans have connections to each other. There are a lot of 'Korean' votes beside skating fans too.

ACTUALLY, I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT RESULT OF FAN VOTE....

SOYOUN FANS DIDN'T USE VOTING BOTS, NOT EVER.

But organizer adjusted the number of votes THREE TIMES.... WHY?

Soyoun fans just hope that she grab opportunity to join TCC.

I thought TCC is a good chance to experience new environment for Soyoun (Because Korea couldn't join Team trophy...)

As you know, Korean Fans have big union power.

They let friends know this TCC fan voting and asked to vote her.

They NEVER use automated voting program.......never.........

Really I don't understand why this is happening.

I think this is action to deceive figure fans, thereby adjust polling rate repeatedly.

Deceiving figure fans is morally wrong.

The lack of big names cannot be helping attendance... couldn't see them sending relatively 'obscure' skaters like So Youn & Kuchvalska.

I don't think Korean fans even needed bots to influence the voting for TCC, they care more about this most of the rest of the world. Also, seems many folks here (including myself) voted for Kuchvalska... is it really that difficult to believe she ever had a chance in the vote? Wasted exercise.

I am bummed that none of my favorites will be here :( I am trying to talk myself into watching anyway.

Thanks for all of the updates :)

Can you understand that perhaps there are people who engaged in automated voting not necessarily because they are So Youn fans, but "anti fans" of other skaters (or federations)? Surely you must know that there is still a very creepy "Sochi Scandal" campaign online that still goes on 2 years after the fact? I am sure that you and your friends voted fairly, but you don't represent everyone who participated. And why is it so hard for you to believe that Rika could have fairly won the fan vote? Japan surely has even more skating fans than Korea. And Rika has many fans outside of Asia, including me.

I don't believe TCC ever had a way to verify 'automated voting' with Pollcaster's software. I'm relatively certain they believed the numbers looked suspect (as did a lot of folks) so they arbitrarily adjusted the results.

(Btw, USFS sent out another email today about discounted TCC tickets. As before, the promo code is still THANKSWORLDS -- good through the end of Friday, April 18th)

You can only speak for yourself that you did not use automated voting. You can't speak for others because they may in fact used it without your knowledge.

I do love Soyoun's SP...but I love Rika's SP AND FP so my vote went to Rika. Maybe this time she can do the River Dance completely clean and the judges will give her a good score for it.

Hopefully Kovtun and Wang/Wang will redeem after poor World showing. The others will have a hard time to top their WC performances.

I really don't think Kovtun would have any redemption with that FS...you never have a successful program if you play with Beethoven's music like that, Beethoven himself would not approve!

I'm excited to see it in person since I missed the Ladies FS live.

Since Ice Network already has our money if we are subscribers, they probably don't care if we pay the extra $9.99. Some people will and it's all just gravy for them.

Soyoun really didn't deserve to get the votes. Has she won anything yet on the international circuit? I'm surprised she was even nominated.

As someone who called for a NA vs Asia vs Europe event long before this event was announced, this event should have been called the "World Skating All Stars" and then they should have ensured all the "All Stars" showed up. If this event doesn't do well it's a result of a lack of forward thinking, being PC, and/or trying to slightly rig things in the NA direction for tv purposes. The level of skating that will be here is ok but will pretty much be the exact same as the level at the World Team Trophy which is nation based. I think casual american audiences need to be amazed or they'll tune out.

One thing they should have considered doing is doing just SP or FS... I think the top athletes are reluctant to put on repeat performances of both as it kind of nullifies whatever happens at the WC.

The issue isn't whether we pay the extra $9.99. Those of us who paid the $49.99 were told that the Team event was included in the price of subscription. If they now decline to let us see it, it's consumer fraud, no different from getting shortchanged at a store. No different from paying $10 for a pound of meat and then finding out that the scale was rigged and there actually was only .75 pound of meat.

Btw, I did post (yet another) complaint on the Facebook page of U.S. figure skating.

I think it's kind of ridiculous to say a skater doesn't deserve FAN votes... you don't necessarily need to be winning things to have a ton of fans. Just look at Mirai Nagasu. Furthermore LOTS of the competitors have never won anything on the international Senior circuit, and even the very popular Jason Brown, who got his place fair and square through the World Standings list has only won a few B's since turning senior, though I will admit his overall record is much stronger than hers.

Hey, Radionova and Medvedeva playing for the same team! I hope it will be a chance for them to finally start getting along. And I think that it is the best chance for Lena to do her best skating this season and to show the highest score of all ladies there. I just don't think Zhenya will have enough motivation for yet another "skate of her life". And now the ladies event suddenly looks quite interesting. I hope our TV and sportbox will not let us down and show the whole event.

On another topic, since I may be seeing it live, can someone please explain to me Roberta Rodighero's SP music? Is there something symbolic about the mixing of music?
