2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

No what I’m saying is that usually Team turberidze uses a lot of programs that aren’t very common , but this year they’re using a lot of very common stuff / things that were literally performed LAST YEAR ... like I doubt they ran out of music choices

Still using the moment since you brought it up to declare that I LOVED Yulia's Kill Bill. Can't wait to see it from Quad KillerQueen, Sasha Trusova.

still bitter we never got to see it at its finest form! :sad21: i'm gonna rewatch it now; i miss yulia!

there's absolutely nothing weird about it. They already had Alina skate to several warhorses since her junior debut. Alena's SP adios nonino is a warhorse too, Scherbakova (& zhenya was she was still under eteri) skated to nocturne. Eteri's team using warhorses isn't something crazy. you bringing up Orser team especially when these pieces of music have been used by the entire skating community makes it look like you're trying to start drama lmao sorry if that wasn't your intention but it seems shady as hell

Me too. :sad21: Her FS at Rostelecom was probably one of the most heartbreaking I have ever seen. And she sold it so well in the beginning... Don‘t forget to re-watch Megapolis, too, if I remember correctly it‘s her favourite program. Or Leningrad. Or her cool Elvis program in the fancy rainbow dress. And Schindler‘s List of course. Good old times.

it's not even a kill bill music on the video. :rolleye:
but some users just can't handle it..... :laugh2: it's even funny how many jealousy here...

Anyone else notice that a lot of these pieces are taken from Team Orser’s (*cough* evgenia and gabrielle *cough*) old pieces? Plus Yulia’s kill bill?

I would say it’s more amusing how Eteri reused music amongst her skaters.

Don Quixote: Alina, Julia (with very similar cuts and movements)
R&J: Erkhov, Alena, Julia
Kill Bill: Julia Sasha
Carmen: Alina Alena (I think she skated it competitively last year but did skate it as an ex with Eteri though o could be wrong)
Leftovers: Alena Evgenia

As well both Alina’s swan and Zhenya’s senior free were initially intended for Julia which shows how they recycle programs. This isn’t a criticism but i find it amusing.

Not Alena's ex specifically... It was her 16-17 season's SP.

Actually, Eteri's used tons of classical music and warhorses for as long as I can remember. Having Daleman of all people as the iconic "Carmen" is far-fetched.

I wasn’t talking about Carmen lolz but rhapsody in blue which she’s been skating to for the past 2 years but thanks for pointing out Carmen as well

Correction. Yulia skated to Killbill quite some time after she left Eteri, so its not like Eteri is re-using anything there.

But overall, i think what happens is that we have a choreographer that works pretty much with only one team. They have ideas, they implement them. If we look at other choreographers, there is a lot of re-use too (Lori *ahem*), but it tends to be less visible because they work with skaters from different teams.

Yulia did an exhibition at Skate Canada in 2013 to Kill Bill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU6FRGadtM0

LMAO are people on sports.ru really saying "BUYANOVA SEDUCES AND STEALS GIRLS FROM EVIL ETERI"? :laugh2:

I've come across the name of Sergei Davydov as Dasha's new coach. Do you think it's possible? I know him only as juniors' coach.

Same age group as Anna Tarusina, right? Should be possible.

That I'm actually pretty happy about, prefer him quite significantly to Buianova.

Buianova specifically is known for poaching.
There were very persistent rumors that she continuously tried to steal Radionova from Goncharenko, for example, and so on.

I would much prefer that to Buyanova. Davydov seems to be doing well with Tarusina, Samodelkina, Istomina, and Berestovskaya and is certainly not stagnating like Buyanova.

Davydov would be a good choice if she decided she had to leave. She'd likely get more attention than with Buianova who has several senior ladies already.
