2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

It's so cool that some skaters follow GS!

i'm not sure about that! some people on this forum are nasty and i wouldn't want skaters seeing some of the things that are said about them here. But i'm glad Liza saw that she got voted #1 it should feel nice, she's on twitter now, i expect a lot of fun tweets! she's suck a jokester

Elucidus, please stop spreading rumors. What anonymous sites with "wild assumptions" were you talking about in your other post? I hope to god it's not 2chan.
It's not - but it's similar to it, I admit. Nevertheless it's rather valuable source of various information including personal and paparazzi photos, videos and stories of skaters and their acquaintances - which are hard to get in more decent places. Also, for example all videos from junior test skates appeared first at that board - since the man who filmed them was this board's regular.

The paragraph righ above Lena's spiral picture:

A known figure skater, Elena Radionova, performed as a guest. Although her skate wasn't perfect (the word "sinless" was used in the article), an appearance of any well-known skater is a treat for Vladimir's public.

There's like three seconds of her. How in the world can you infer that this is struggling with doubles??? She could've stepped out of a triple in her actual skate. We never saw it so nobody can accurately tell or prognose anything.
If you are familiar enough with how journalists (especially those nonspecialised in sport) writes their articles - with their usual trend to praise and exagerrate any national achievements - that wording should tell you that there were serious mistakes (at least falls). Step out wouldn't be even considered as mistake. Absence of her performance in a news video intended to advertise opening of new skate rink and progressing of hockey and figure skating sport in the region hints that there was most likely disaster skate as well.

Your hint toward her possible troubles due to a cooking show (and not "shows" as you wrote, she only appeared in one), football commentary (Med and Zag attended public events as well so I don't see your point), lack of training info (nobody is obligated to give out any info!) looks a lot like those presumptions. I'd say they are of ill intent, sorry. You say you're not interested in her yet you gave out so much about her off-season. Doesn't that make sense!

Also, Elucidus, PLEASE provide prooflinks if you can in the future. I know you didn't save this one. These kind of posts get folks like Fluture freaked out over nothing (sorry Fluture!).

Ok, let's see - there are this info as well:
1) https://rsport.ria.ru/interview/20180824/1140728499.html interview with Sotskova by famous sports journalist where she talks about diet and problems with extra weight as well. The same journalist made interview with Tsurkaya recently (both in Buyanova group where trains Radionova)
2) here is a personal blog of that journalist where in comments section somebody asks her about diet problems in relation to the article about Sotskova - and her answer (the date of answer is just after the interview in Buyanova group) https://www.liveinternet.ru/users/vellena/post439419431/page2.html#comment696349724
considering that she said it just after the interview and in relation about Sotskova article, and considering that in both Tsurskaya and Sotskova articles weight problems weren't presented as unresolved, and considering that usually there are lot of info journalists get in their interview work which aren't made public in the end - it's very plausible to think that this skater she talks about having extra weight problems is Radionova.

Anyway I am not claiming anything here - it can be all just empty speculations in the end. I just posted it to show the way how some rumors can be born since you asked about sources. Sorry if all this offends someone - it's hard to keep some relevant info inside when they talk about it sometimes, you know - even if it's not verified info)

Alina Zagitova, Alexandra Trusova, Anna Shcherbakova - Dance 29.08.18 (eng sub)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGt8Cv44LJc&t

Is this exact same as the Sia music video?

Alina is either significantly better than the other girls or she's practiced this choreography more often than they have. The other two are frequently out of sync with the music, whereas Alina is not. Very impressive.

Anna and Sasha look about the same level of quality here, to my eyes. Kind of surprising since Anna is thought to be the better dancer!

I think Anna hasnt learnt the dance yet because she missed some of the moves. Still, she's the best for me... There's some calmness in her movements even when they are fast, I can't even describe it but it is so pleasing to watch. Alina is great too, definitely into the role and Sasha is improving but Anna dances differently. Maybe its her sense for balance?

Ok, no matter who she's talking about, I find it kind of shocking that she says that coaches don't have to concern themselves with the dietary habits of their athletes. Seriously? Does a club on the level of CSK not employ nutritionists and just leaves everything up to the athlete and whatever sketchy diet they might pick up?

That was the feeling I got. She seemed totally lost at times. Well, it does make sense considering that she's recently returned. I guess the others might have already been introduced to the dance while Anna was at her JGP event.

Veeeery doubtful logic. And tbh, at this moment I so wanted give a slap to Vaitsekhovskaya. Not a human, but a gossip snake. [sarcastically mock] "faaaamous spooorts joooournalist"

I think if she's only following the Golden Skate twitter, and stays away from most of the actual forum (with the possible exception of her fan fest, and even then I'm not so sure... ), she should be fine.:)

It's amazing how quickly Vaits turned in the eyes of... certain Russian skater's fans from "awful snake who always badmouthing Zh... our favourite skater" to "good and respectful journalist who knows what she is talking about". And same story with K*ola K*ng.

Alina was definitely the best one for me here. She improved so much already, it‘s really impressive. The close up of her face was beautiful, she seems to connect a lot more to the music than last year.

Sasha has improved, too, if you compare it to other dance videos we‘ve seen from her. She knew the choreography, she was usually on the beat (with some exceptions) but it‘s visible that dancing isn‘t something that comes naturally to her. The close up of her face compared to Alina‘s showed the difference. Sasha doesn‘t seem to connect to the music yet at all. But to be fair, Alina was a lot worse a few years ago, too, more stiff, not as fluid, stoic expression... It‘s really mind-blowing to see how these couple years make such a difference. I don‘t think Sasha will ever be the most talented dancer or she will ever enjoy dancing the most but I‘m sure she‘ll improve significantly. It‘s easier to focus on the athletic side of a sport in your younger years when you don‘t have the maturity or the artistry yet. Some people, like Anna (!!) or Alena or Evgenia, have an innate talent for this. Some people have to learn it. Either way, it‘s fine.

Speaking of Anna... Usually she‘s the dancer I can‘t keep my eyes off in a group. She just has this ability, this talent and it showed here again in her moves. But she didn‘t know the choreography at all, seemed totally lost at times which distracted a bit and made my glance shift to Alina who was overall more impressive here. But I think that‘s due to Anna just returning, she didn‘t have time to learn it yet, whereas Alina and Sasha did. It would be nice to see another video when they‘ve all fully learned the choreo. :)

Alina could probably be a dancer if that's what she wanted; she stands out in every dance video I've seen, no matter who else is there. I would say she's the best female dancer in Eteri's entire group.

You can see their different strengths in that dance video. You can see Anna's musicality much more than the other girls even though she clearly doesn't know all the movements and her timing is off. Alina isn't particularly great in musicality compared to Anna or overall dancing ability, but she's very charming and draws you in, much like Maddie in the original video. Sasha has also improved a lot. I think in terms of dancing ability, Anna has the most natural talent and Alena looks most awkward in Eteri's group (on the floor - it's a different story on ice because if Alena's skating skills).

oh my lord! :drama: why do they do this to me??
I've always wanted someone to skate to this music!!!
And now seeing Alina dancing I think it would be perfect for her!
It could be her EX!
Too bad it's not gonna happen. :sad21:

Sima skated to it a few years back as an Exhibition

https://youtu.be/PdDIdrcQxvo

Something wild and right on the edge about Serafima. This Ex was blistering fast like a whirlwind. The spins and jumps are equally scary as they are impressive. I absolutely love every minute of this exhibition. This was the season her and Zhenya often bowed in character :dance3:

BTW: THIS end to end pass is
