2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Just in case you people didn't see it: https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?73139-Russian-FS-Costume-Designers
Interviews with russian FS costume designers, mostly Ryabenko.

Added a second one today.

I am actually wondering if we have fanfests for people like coaches, choreographers and designers on this forum, all those awesome FS people who do not compete but do a lot of work too. There are team fanfests, but its not same as Tchernyshev fanfest or Ryabenko fanfest.

Some people show their true selves when they're being so emotional...

Yeah because emotions are compatible with rational thinking... If I were to judge people by what they do and say while being emotional (and I work in hospital were people are EXTREMELY emotional) I'd have to despise 90% of humanity :slink:

From a moral standpoint, these are two sides of the same coin really.

Not unless Evgenia has a time machine and could put Alina into juniors and have a re-do of the whole season - no, it's not.

Some people sometimes say irrational things they don’t mean when they’re so emotional. You all saw what she was like when she got off the ice, she was literally sobbing!

Seriously people! Life isn’t black and white. Everyone says problematic things they never meant, everyone makes mistakes!

Don’t pretend you guys haven’t.

Of course they haven't - they never said (or wrote) a sentence in their lives that they wouldn't happily have broadcast on national television. They are all sweetness, charity and filled to o'erflowing with the milk of human kindness.

The thing is, the fact that everybody does something sometimes does not make this thing good.
I mean, tons of people picked their noses at some point of life, still its not welcome at public for some reason =P

No one said it was a good thing.....

Its just that everybody makes such mistakes, and they don’t deserve to have their entire existence judged based on this. Especially when the ones judging her are capable of such things.

It makes zero sense to me, but it is the age of social media where we just love to rip people apart.

Completely agreed. I don't comprehend how people dare to go like "morality this, morality that". Are they that innocent themselves?
I understand it somehow if you accuse people of disturbing the morality boundaries, and how vague boundaries they are, face to face and they have the chance to respond. But, sitting behind your computer and typing accusations of other people not being moral does not seem moral to me at all :confused2:

I dunno, so far, there are some cases where it is pretty moral to accuse some people of not being moral.
For example, the fans that pestered Diana.

Outside of that, I think everybody else is roughly on the same boat.

Diana liked a mean comment about Evgenia in her ig, that's why fans went (more) crazy in her comments.
But people should leave her alone, she's fifteen and she personally knows the people involved in this drama.
Everybody makes mean comments when our emotions are running high, the worst is when other people passes judgement without knowing the full picture

It's hard to deny that when the discussion is about Russian figure skating and Eteri in particular some people here pretend to be "more catholics than the Pope".

It could reach over 1000 pages before the senior GP starts. I'm actually not joking. Copy this (#1729) post. :agree:

So here's some Lena for the day :luv17::

1000? easily. we are talking about Diana instagram. after raising age it will be even funnier

this is russian thread so some people here pretend to be more orthodox than Vitali Klitschko

That's not a very good analogy. Evgenia didn't pick her nose in public, did she? She picked her nose in what she thought was private - it's not her fault if someone else broadcast her nose-picking on television. Er. So to speak.

Orthographic trivia: in regard to the church, we write "Catholic" with upper case letter, just like adjective "Orthodox". :)

Who is "Vitali Klitschko"? I looked it up and I only found a " Ukrainian politician and former professional boxer"

With all due respect, Diana is the only one here who has all the right not to be classy.
You see, whatever happened between Zhenya and Eteri, both had their part in that. And right now, Eteri is clearly heartbroken and upset. Dunno, it makes all sense to me that her daughter somehow does not like the girl that upset her mom. I really cannot condemn Diana here for liking mean comments about Zhenya, and i'm really curious to see who can here.

That was not what the post I answered said, dude.

People actually go around checking instagram accounts to see who liked comments????
Sounds like too much time on their hands. Yikes.
Next they'll be trying to read minds too.
Minority Report here we come.

...You can like IG comments?

Yes but you have to have an account. You can even comment back at those comments. I remember Courtney Hicks posted a video of how she used to flutz and fixed it and some fans of hers started dogging on Zhenya in the comment section. . Well...Zhenya popped in and posted “teach me”. It was all pretty lighthearted and even funny. Zhenya had a sense of humor about it. Zhenya got lots of like for her comment ;)

Found the post :)

Maybe I just understand this at all? Who cares if someone picks their nose in private? It’s private. Someone video taping this and using it to publicly embarrass the person would be immoral not the actual nose picking.

Also, she’s a teenager. No one really takes teenagers seriously when they yell at a family member and say, “I hate you! You are ruining my life!” It doesn’t make it true, doesn’t make it “moral,” but it is expected at that developmental age. The difference is that these statements are not taken out of context to be broadcast to international media.

I agree, just some people (zhenya's "fans" who started attacking her) in social media lose common sense and their fanaticism blinds them.

Minority Report here we come.

That's the downside of being known in the public, kind of sad that a 15-yeard old can't show their anger without being attacked by strangers who doesn't know nothing.
