I actually expect most of the skaters to be in range of 3s. And if they were in regular school most likely 2s. Of course there will be exceptions.
So if we want an actual metric of their excellence in school we have to check the EGE results. Pure EGE results without extra grades that they maybe earn because of the athletic results.

If the minimum EGE result to pass to university is 25/100 (i think it's something around there) so they are actually bad students if they wrote 30/100 and pass to physical education departments.

She specifically said that in sports you need to be smart, because in Russia there is such a stereotype: if you are athlete - you are stupid. So she tried to destroy this stereotype. She did not say that all people are stupid or something.

I don't know how much can I rely on this translation, but to me this extract:

My childhood ended when I was 12, the sport makes you grow up quickly. Childhood goes away when you gain life experience and face with the obstacles such as betrayal. They teach us and help us grow up.

The most difficult thing in the growing up period is to realize that the person who helps you is not always for you and works for own benefit. I can’t understand it at all.

I must admit there's an interesting development of her interviews and media coverage lately. We get some new material almost every week, there comes a moment when we have "forgotten" about her and she "shows" again. Also, there's been a great ambivalence in her words, she says something without a clear specification and lets the public to make their own conclusions. With the Olympic channel interview I thought at first that it was due to a language limitation, but now this interview and also her Experience EX tell me that it might me planned to be so. Maybe they (she and her PR agent) are trying new strategies and want to see where the public in general stays towards her (whether they like her or not) ... or maybe they have no idea what they're doing (but I doubt this)

You can discuss whatever you want i don't care as some other members. But you are opening your sentence with "specifically said that in sports you need to be smart," and bring some personal interpretation about stereotypes to make your argument valid. I'm not a native speaker but here is what she said.

"Everything is simple: stupid people or the one who was terrible studied, never will rise at high level in sports."

So you think the above sentence is "specifically said that in sports you need to be smart". It maybe, but i don't see the specifically, it's sounds more like interpretation.

I checked quite a few different websites and forums. Pretty much everywhere the comments are negative.
As for sports.ru - just a couple of weeks ago it was overflowing with her fans. I wonder where did they go on this one?

I go sports.ru two months, there always mostly haters Zhenya. The number of members in the fan groups Zhenya in the VK is not reduced, and even slowly growing.

She was always extremely careful with her words at any interviews, and now when she has left Eteri's group, it just seems like nobody advices her what to say anymore, so she started to say what she really thinks and those interviews show us a very interesting side of Zhenya

There are a hundred reasons why a 18-year-old girl can spit something like that, selfishness is just one of them (see fundamental attribution error).

But yes, there may be a reason why she's never said anything like that before, and for the correlation of this and her work with Eteri's team.

So athletes have it easier, much easier. This is, in part, the reason on why most of the younger ones do Physical Education at University, because it is where they can enter. The teachers usually support the kids who study in a regular school by reducing their study load - for example, they can "forgive" one's homework, or do not call to answer in class, leaving just tests. The kids who do not study in a regular school, it is just obviously easier. Ofc, in both cases, quality suffers.

Among other reasons to admire Alenka, she's determined to become a neurosurgeon.

I absolutely don’t understand the behavior of some people here. When I don’t like a skater, I just avoid topics about them. You come and post something out of context only with the purpose of making Zhenya look bad.
Of course the sweet messages she post on Twitter never appear here.
Everything is a good reason to hate her. This is so petty, I know people who don’t like her but never would they just actively try to ruin her reputation even more ?

Liza has her 3A back. And it‘s textbook technique. She even joked about how she‘s got it back now that Olympic Season is over. Looks like she‘s doing fine.

I hope she has a good season! I was never a fan of her much bc of the complete lack of connection to the music but I do think she has some amazing jumps when she’s on!

Me too.

It would be awesome if she could medal again in bigger competitions. She has such talent!
This year will be easier than next, when the Quadsters will become seniors, so I hope she makes a statement.

Same for me. I love her jumps (if she nails them) but her artistry is a bit lackluster to me. Still, I wish her all the best and that 3A looked gorgeous, so I hope she gets to land it in some major competitions. But I think it won‘t be that easy. Zhenya and Alina are still Russian #1 and #2 and there‘s Masha, Polina, Elena, Pogo and Gubanova (Did i forget someone?) who are all battling for that third spot besides her. She needs to be clean and consistent with that 3A to make it.
