I don't think anyone's called her takeoff technique perfect? I don't see the need for constant nitpicking when it comes to her though, as many other skaters - Even very notable ones - Have far greater issues with their jump edges. If it's a deep inside edge on a Lutz or a deep outside edge on a Flip I get it, but if your enjoyment comes down to whether a ! sometimes gets called(Which ends up being a 1-2 GOE issue with no BV decreases, AKA at the level of a scratchy landing), you probably have to re-evaluate your priorities. I really don't see this being made a big deal out of for anyone but Russian ladies anyway.I think it has more to do with people talking about her perfect jumping technique which in fact isn't perfect.
Wakaba did beat Alina. You can cry some more about that, while you remember Alina wasn't even good enough for a bronze.
But really, it's not Wakaba's fault the sport is so corrupt that that disaster where Alina didn't know what music was, never mind anything else while she rolled around on the ice, gets the same PCS that a clean, perfect skate by Wakaba does.
So yes, Alina will have no problems "beating" Wakaba, no matter what Wakaba does. The judges will make sure of it after all. They've been doing that for a good season now.
Yes, don't worry. It's such a great thing! No matter how awful, the judges will give her scores! It's so awesome when you're proud of travesties like that. Great stuff for the sport.
Zagi the Destroyer! Exterminate!!!
Well done, well done! 14! Under that pressure!!
Junior World Champion!!!
Told you all she needed was a clean skate.
Well done Zagi, well done.

Her collaboration with Eteri, who I like, is obviously very beneficial and I think Zhenya's mentality and personality are perfect for this.
I would like to pass around smelling salts to all the Eteri ubers that have been screaming at me for days now.

One thing I'll certainly disagree with the majority on regarding Kostornaya is her musicality. I really don't think she has a whole lot of feel for the music and honestly, no matter how many times I've watched it I've still not really found it. She has some beautiful positions, excellent skating skills, transitions and all, but musicality? I just don't see it. Well, that's in line with what she herself has said(That she doesn't feel the music) so I really don't know why she would now have such incredible musicality according to so many people ...
In my opinion, Kostornaya's CO actually was pretty weak last season. Especially for the SP, I'd have Trusova over her handily in that category, just like in IN. Trusova's FS really didn't work for me so that's a different story, but to regard Kostornaya as some 80 PCS never-before-seen artistic talent, I really can't agree with that...

Am looking forward to the JGP assignments and who will go first.
even funnier to remember how was the attitude towards Eteri
and what it's like now

...people's opinions can change as the situations also change and evolve? I used to like Eteri until this year when I saw how awfully she treated Alina and after she went crying about Evgenia on TV with screenshots and all -> as I learned and saw more about Eteri my opinion changed. I respect her for what she has accomplished as a coach, and that's all there is.
I don't see why the need to be all spanish inquisition![]()
funny to remember how different your attitude towards Alina was just some time ago when she wasn't yet a threat to Medvedeva

And not everything has to do with disliking skaters because they‘re a threat to favourites. There‘s the possibility that someone in fact likes two skaters, even if they‘re rivals. Yuzu and Javier should be the best examples here. interesting though that being Alina's fan I haven't noticed "an awful treatment"
Uhm, gosh, cheering someone on as a promising Junior is a very different thing thanThe only funny thing here is that you went back to find this person‘s quotes from some time ago to call him/her out on it. People change, opinions change. If you knew my opinion of Alina from about half a year ago, you‘d probably call me a hypocrite and „not a real fan“. I didn‘t like her skating at all. Now? Very different, very, very different in fact. So yeah, calling people out on what they wrote months ago seems a bit... not right to me.And not everything has to do with disliking skaters because they‘re a threat to favourites. Uhm, gosh, cheering someone on as a promising Junior is a very different thing than
-saying the skater is ready for Seniors...
- supporting the Senior age standard -- that is out of step with other early specialization sports... or
-giving kudos for a strategy that was all about maximizing IJS scoring under the old framework..
There are a number of us that have sincere questions...

And that is fine! We don't all have to agree. Personally, that's what I saw and it made me change my mind.
Just like you changed your mind about Evgenia because in your opinion she left in a bad way. Which is not what I saw.
It's all a matter of personal perspective, and that's okay as long as there is respect.

But didn’t you change your opinion about Zhenya? It’s normal, everyone has their point on view.
I know I changed my opinion about Eteri.

I was agreeing and extending the thought...[emoji848]?? Okay and what exactly does this have to do with my post? I mean, no offense but I don‘t see any relation to what I wrote??
Overall, I kinda agree it was fine. I suppose people talk about K&C stuff.
While, yes, as a coaching team, it would be ideal to split their time 50-50 between their both top students, It is understandable that, as a human being, some of the coaches chose to support a student that was clearly distressed a bit more. I do not really see that as awful treatment or whatever.
Yep, not ideal, but they still supported both skaters.
Awful treatment would be to hold Alina in juniors, or simplify her programs to ensure Zhenya's win. Eteri's team did their best to have both girls at their possible best. Eteri and her team was with both girls at important moments too.

Well I thought Eteri was a bit cold to Alina. I wish she went to congratulate her at least. Don’t forget she asked to not call her the Olympic champion and that’s awful to little Alina who worked very hard.
