2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

The IT item that every Russian lady will be wearing this season? Gloves! Blue ones, black ones, pink ones green ones, you can bet you’ll see every color of the rainbow at upcoming competitions! And for a limited time, you can see rhinestones and feathers and beanie-babies on the gloves too! Guaranteed to keep the hands protected when doing your beilmann! And they’re warm and cozy too! Don’t forget your pair of gloves when stopping by Julia’s Fashion Boutique this fall!

What's wrong with you guys?:(
The more I read, the more I don't recognize this thread......:palmf:

I’m a bit surprised as well. What’s this nonsense with putting randomn pictures together and claiming skaters “steal choreo from each other“ ?? I mean, it‘s fine to say you don’t enjoy a program. But this? This is blatant nonsense.

Also, am I really the only one that has loved what we’ve seen from Alina’s program so far? I kinda feel like an outcast here because I thought it looked (other than the dress) absolutely great. But of course, I need to see the whole program to make my final opinion, it‘s been what... 5 seconds we’ve seen so far.

^ I hope so....I it love when skaters wear gloves

Me, too! I absolutely loved Alina’s gloves last season. And Zhenya‘s in her 2017 SP. But I really can’t stand it when skaters wear gloves like Elena Radionova does in most of her costumes. I love her but those brownish gloves don‘t match her skin tone at all and they look sloppy. Very shallow here, very, very, shallow, I know. But it’s somewhat more pleasant to discuss than:

“Evil skater X is stealing choreo from poor Y“

I thought it was great too.

The truth is, she is just plagiarizing my own reaction when, with deep regret, I say goodbye to my good sense after reading too much nonsense.

Oh! Here we go again, bye bye my old friend!

No accusations of stealing, just wondering if recycled choreo and a hand-me-down dress is appropriate for an Olympic champion. She has 1 chance at a skating career with only so many years to live it.

Also, she doesn’t put together her own programs.

This season will be full of fighting concerning Alina and Evgenia, can we please stop? I doubt one of them is stealing from the other. I don’t care that the jumps aren’t perfect at this point; I’m sure they’ll be ready soon. There’s no way that their coaches won’t have them ready. There are so many other interesting things to talk about, right? Like, will Fedichkina and Pogorilaya make a comeback? Will Stanislava improve on the GP while keeping her Anna Karenina from last year? Can the quad queen remain #1 junior for a second straight year, or will others pass by her? Will a Russian junior win every single jgp like last year? Who’s attempting the quad and who isn’t? How is Sotskova at this point? Etc....

They are all stealing from Gubanova anyway

One heck of a transition into the slower section of this program BTW ;)
that's a beautiful program  my favorite R&J from a female skater

i love gloves! Zhenya's W.E gloves and also the long Anna Karenina gloves! Alina's don quixote gloves were so classy too

Is anyone else thinking that Alina keeping the 3Lz-3Lo in the SP is not the smartest? She can do 3Lz-3T much more easily, and historically with higher GOE. If she puts that combo in the second half, not only is it more stable but she'll actually score higher on it because of bonus and higher GOE than the Lz-Lo, with less risk (other than not being able to tack it on later; but I've never seen her miss it). It makes so much more sense to me, as Lz-Lo's advantage is nonexistent in SP given that it's much more difficult and she doesn't get nearly as much GOE

Well, as for the recyclation I could only recycle my yesterday's exchange with yoloaxel. Those today's comments seems recycled too (so I was in fact right ). If those complainers would at least notice that Alina's dress is borrowed and not intended for her. I know, it was repeated only about 30 times, I guess it's not sufficient number :) And that's with all those objections. "Deserve better". So many experts on what somebody else deserves. Alina deserves to do what she likes, at first. And, judging by the reactions, she delivered it not as "generic program" those experts claim, but as a thing that was joy to watch, with not as expected variation of the score. Yeah, it won't be Black Swan again, in ballet form or not. It is POTO and the question is does it fit the theme and music. From what I saw till now it does incl. the dress - and remember, the dress is just borrowed

I read the exact same thing at the beginning of last season.
