I too would prefer them but Kanysheva has won a lot more competitions than either of them. And, no, not by Junior Nationals alone, otherwise Shcherbakova would never have one.

They may want to get Stage 4 for Trusova which is in Vancouver and I think uses the same rink as the GPF which would be a big advantage for her when it comes to the gpf especially with her high risk layout. In which case I wouldn’t be surprised to see her at the last event like you predicted. I don’t think there will be an Eteri girl at stage three for some reason and I would predict we’ll probably get Tarakanova(depending on how she is at test skates—hasn’t had much time to adjust to new programs and recover from whatever her health problems) and a Panova girl/Vasilieva/Gulyakova though I could be completely wrong and these are just my predictions

I would be tempted to give eight different girls spots at the first four events and then have the winners of 1 and 2 go to JGP 5, the winners of 3 and 4 go to JGP 6, and then the two best girls without gold medals (i.e. the silver medalists with the highest scores) go to JGP 7. That way you give eight girls a chance for international experience whilst also maximising the number of girls who can possibly make the final.
For example you would have.
1. Shcherbakova, + Tarusina,
2. Kostornaya + Gubanova,
3. Kanysheva + Trusova,
4. Tarakanova + Vasilieva,
5. Winners of JGP 1 + 2
6. Winners of JGP 3 + 4
7. Best 2 non Gold Medalists.
Under this system it would also make sense to avoid giving Trusova JGP 2, as the Fed will likely want to avoid putting their two Quad Girls up against each other during the initial stages.

Unfortunately, they aren’t the same rinks. The JGP event is at Minoru Arenas in Richmond and the final is at UBC Thunderbird Arenas on the university campus. They’re about 30 minutes apart I think.

This is why Gubanova should have been competing in seniors. If you don't even have her be the favorite for her JGP competition, why have her doing juniors?
She's one of these low end Russian skaters who will be representing different countries.
There should be another one for Azerbaijan as well. Ekaterina Ryabova, was it?

It should be if it accompanies a high score but it seems that the RusFed is too stupid to have proper logic
And I’m liking that idea of eight girls but giving six two spots. But that requires all of them to not bomb the second assignment.
I'm still bitter Gubanova isn't going seniorbut at least she got an assignment i guess i should be happy
Maybe she can get some challengers and gather points for next season GP.

Buyanova's influence should at least help with a couple of later Challengers that are not crowded by Seniors getting ready for GP. Otherwise why switch?Gubanova unfortunately isn’t a favorite.

Her best option is to compete in a late Challenger with usual generous scoring (Tallin Trophy seems good choice) and score well in hope to stay in the top 24 SB by the end of the season and sneaking onto the GP next year.

You’re probably right even if I find Anastasiia far more dynamic with equal skill in terms of basic skating. Her presentation last year was much more emotional IMO and had more depth than Alena but I’m going to imagine that would change with Alena using a program like R&J. It’s a very emotional piece and I expect Alena to give us a little character this year with more depth. Alena is one of the skaters I am really looking forward to this season actually inspite of my indifference of last years scoring. I’m literally talking 9.25’s vs 8.75’s
Besides....It’s a new year...anything goes as far as I’m concerned. Tabla rasa
