2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

According to Ask.fm of Viktoria Vasilieva both she and Tarusina learn quads. Of course it's not surprising.

I can't wait! This could be what they need to stay on track, especially Vasilieva who isn't on the JGP and is trying to qualify for the bloodbath at the senior level this year. I wonder which ones, though. Toe for Tarusina would be my best guess.

according to Ask.fm of Tarusina Samodelkina and Berestovskaya learn quads too, but Anna wrote it about 1 month ago so I didn't mention it as a news

almost everyone is trying out quads/3A but it doesn't mean they're all going to succeed.

Exactly. Medvedeva stated she fully rotated some 4S (but fell) but that doesn‘t mean we‘ll see a quad in her programs any time soon. Trying quads doesn‘t mean succeeding at doing them consistently. So far Sasha is the only one from all the ladies claiming to know/have tried doing quads who actually landed them in competition. Anna will have her chance at her JGP soon but for now I wouldn‘t get my excitements up to high. They all want to stay on top ergo they all try to do quads like Sasha. But how many of them will succeed? That‘s yet to be seen.

I think Akatieva will have a good chance of success. Right body type, high jumps for her age, insane rotation speed, and Eteri-level consistency in her current programs.

Of course not every girl learning quads will land them but it's always interesting to me to see female skaters chasing more difficult jumps & elements. As long as they stay healthy, it's something exciting.

Elizaveta TUKTAMYSHEVA and Sofia SAMODUROVA were added to Lombardia Trophy entry list :hap10:
do we know other Challenger assignment yet? Evgenia will be doing ACI/US Classic iirc? i suppose 6 other skater who do GP will got assignment as well, but they may left some though since last season Tsurskaya and Pogorilaya didnt get any Challenger, but they have injuries in early season so that maybe why they didnt get it.

There are no Russian ladies competing at US Classic this year. It is assumed that Evgenia will skate at ACI because someone (Brian Orser?) said that Evgenia and Jason Brown would do the same challenger events this year, and he is doing ACI, but we don't know her other one yet.

I think it was Evgenia and/or Jason who said they'd be doing the same Challenger. I'd like to say it might have been during Evgenia's live, but I may be mistaken.
