That's because she hasn't posted anything yet but she said she will soon.

I agree with your point. However this time it will be almost impossible for judges to manipulate the scores in a way that would give Gubanova advantage over any of 3A skater without completely compromising themselves. The gap in abilities is too big. The only way I see it's possible is direct order from coaches council/federation to abandon their qualification principles and put Gubanova in the junior team ignoring her place at jrnats - and that they definitely wouldn't want to do. So I hope this time Eteri will prevail and we will see full russian podium at JW at last![]()
It's true, I missed the GP/JGP season last year.Have you kept up with these things in the past? It doesn't matter how they skate at JGPF (as in won't have positives in consideration for world's team). Russian nationals and TAT/fed support is all that matters. 2 years ago Gubanova was beautiful at JGPF and set the second highest FS score of the season (and ever) behind Alina and won the silver medal. They ignored that alright, and sent Stasya to worlds (who didn't even make JGPF). Last year, Tarakanova was on JGP podium, Gubanova skated clean at nationals, and they sent Stasya to worlds (who didn't make JGPF, had no combo in SP at nationals). It won't be surprising if the third JW spot goes to a Buyanova/TAT favourite, which is looking like Gubanova atm.
did Daria WD from her challenger?
The JGP Final will be held in Vancouver. When has there been a less than strict/picky tech panel at an event in Canada in recent years?
So, the thing there is... Sasha landed a clean quad, and 6 clean triples. Alena landed 7 clean triples. Then there's the 2T vs 2A and two two 2Ts Alena did, compared first of all to the clean quad(Alena already is losing) and the quad fall, which surely is still worth a few points. In the end, it rightfully wasn't even close. I feel like people don't realize just how strong Sasha's layout is. No other lady had done 6 triples on 3 jumping passes before. Heck, Alena doesn't even perform a 3Lz-3Lo. Actually, without the 2A zayaking changes, Sasha could have performed a quadless layout such as:As much as quads are impressive... i was very unimpressed by Sasha winning with fall and double footed pop. Yay, first combo was great.... but i fear they will just ram the program with quads hoping some of them stick... and others will follow the suit likely.
We seen enough splatfests in men events... that is why multiple falls are now penalized more, right?

2A, 2A, 2A, 2A, 3Lz-3Lo, 3Lz-3T, 3F-1Lo-3S to put into perspective how impressive it is what she can do. Truly, even the triple jump portion of Sasha's program is more impressive than Kostornaya's...
To be honest, I'm really not agreeing with people thinking Kostornaya should be doing better with her content. She was doing -3Lo combos last spring, but has dropped them. She was doing 3A during the summer, but hasn't even been attempting it. She still does a -2T-2T combo instead of a -2T-2Lo one. Meanwhile, Anna for instance made her layout even more difficult by replacing the -2T-2Lo combo with a -1Lo-3S combo and adding a second 2A. I really don't know why people would actually want skaters to be rewarded for stagnating and not seeking to improve further...
Absolutely this. It may not look the prettiest, but Sasha is essentially competing a strong men’s layout (minus 3As) against a non-optimal ladies layout. The technical difference is so vast that a mistake-filled program can still beat a perfectly executed skate from Alena, and it’s the correct outcome. So, the thing there is... Tarusina just move up to #16 in SB this season, she is very likely to be in top 24 and guaranteed a GP
so there will be
1. Zagitova
2. Trusova
3. Tuktamysheva
4. Shcherbakova
5. Medvedeva
6. Kostornaia
7. Tarusina
8. Samodurova
9. Konstantinova
10. Leonova
Leonova might not end up in top 24 SB though since she is currently #21 since Gubanova and Guliakova who is assigned to CS might sneak up and the likes of Higuchi, Daleman, Dabin, and we don't know if all 3A will move up to seniors. Also even if Sotskova is out of top 24 SB she still
guaranteed to get 1 based on her WS, so it is very likely some skater got 1 GP.
Very happy for her success this year. Literally every federation except 2 would be tripping over themselves to have someone of her caliber and consistency represent them. It’s a shame she doesn’t get even more international exposure.
I think Russian skaters need to switch nationalities.
Which ones? Unless the International skating Union changes their rules some of the girls from Russia may have to gain dual citizenship with another country outside of Russia to fulfill their dreams.
Serafima should update her ISU bio as it still lists Plushenko as her coach.
