2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

The coach class was quite full today but business class was empty. May be they could not get coach tickets and decided not to fly Alina business as Gorshkov and Gorshkov were flying economy. Just guessing - I hate trains.

I love trains. I took the Sapsan from Moscow to St Petersburg. I'd love to do the Trans Siberian one day but not for turning up to training for the Russian Nationals.

I wish there was a Sapsan from Moscow to Saransk for Alina. I'm so concerned for her. What is going on?? Why didn't she fly there?

She’s juuuust fine guys. Had a very nice run-through with bonus 3F3Lo. Choreography sequence also improved— a short Ina Bauer and biellman position held for longer now.

Please give us your thoughts on all the skaters. I can't wait to hear your feedback! :)

Please tell me someone saved the ladies’ practice...I want to make a GIF of Konstantinova randomly falling over in the middle of her run-through and just sliding around for a while instead of getting up.

Seeing Trusova have a clean skate today, and Scherbakova an almost clean skate makes me that much more excited :D

gosh.... too much drama from nothing.
it is a good decision to "miss" as much as possible the toxic atmosphere that goes around RN from the press, TAT (and her friends) and some antis...
Better spent this time training on the home rink and than with Diana on the train.

It's normal to have 2 practice sessions before a competition. There is no need to have 3 practices like only girls there have .. just to entertain a public.

You'll have to shake a leg, then. They'll be replacing the TSE one of these years with the new Shanghai-Msc-Berlin-Lisbon rocket-speed express. Part of the China OBOR. It'll be great for business purposes, but charmless for the traveller in comparison with the creaky, demotic trans-siberia.

never travelled with Sapsan but will have to next year:sad21:
Lots of my friends complain that its uncomfortable & the space for sitting is very limited

Rocket speed is very doubtful. I mean, just from the practical point of view and the engineering and technical issues that will arise.
Also, economically, it is not worth it because airplanes.

I hope the ladies tomorrow have a clean skate. The splat feast today during the mens was not enjoyable to watch LOL. Only 1 skater skated clean

Are they building a new line? Some of those countries have different gages...

Train travel can be much more relaxing, during the World Cup there was a lot of good said about the Russian train network and Alina is there now so no problems.

I’m excited and nervous to see the ladies SP. I hope Sotkova does well.

On the eve of the competition I'd like to wish good luck to the favourites but also to the underdogs, including three Anastasias, and everybody who wasn't commonly picked for the top 5 in the prediction game :)

Hello!

Please refer to this thread for our policy on competition chat. Practices, included livestream links to practices, are considered part of the competition.

Thanks!

Well, firework rocket, let's say. China's currently operating HSR trains are already achieving 350 km/h. The average speed Beijing to Shanghai is 300 km/h. R&D trains there are aiming to achieve 1500 km/h eventually. A completed test rail has been built for 450 km/h trials. Routes are already being identified and surveyed. My understanding is much cargo will also go overland, a huge saving on the sea lanes, though perhaps slower than the passenger HSR. Japan is also getting interested in linking up via Sakhalin. (Though the northern sea passage is also being developed now that it's navigable.)

Yes, entirely new rails and routes, so gauge will be standardised and or "flexible".
So Alina may be trendsetting with her trainsetting :). Won't give links, because I don't want to get rapped across the paws for straying OT.
