2018-19 U.S. Ladies' figure skating

Ooh that would be great - hope you can go! Would love to hear a report on if she looks different training with Kori!

I'd love to go and am trying to figure out what the schedule is. The web site either isn't complete or I'm not looking at it right! Sounds like the events are at Glacier, so it would be easy to go. I'd like to see who all is participating. I'm going to be in that area tomorrow morning, so I may just run over there just to see what the story is.

Hannah Miller withdrew from U.S. Collegiates, per the start order for today's SP.

(Giving an update b/c I earlier had said that her name was on a list for practice ice.)

Side FYIs for any who were interested in another thread's recent discussion of collegiate and intercollegiate skating in the U.S.:

At Collegiates this year, 24 skaters are entered in Senior Ladies. (Not counting Miller.)

The 24 are from at least 22 different schools.
(Two skaters from Miami University in Ohio. No school listed for Sarah Nunez.)

I'm not surprised Hannah withdrew - She hasn't been back to jumping for very long since an ankle injury according to her instagram.

The event in Philadelphia just started 15 minuets ago, I think. The ladies are probably on the ice now. We’ll see Amber Glenn and Brynne McIsaac and also Isadora Williams and that junior Maxine-something who may be on the jgp circuit this month.

^ Maxine Bautista. She’s from Chicago and used to train with Alex O; now with Tom Z. I met her once; she seemed very sweet.

Thanks to Sylvia/Unseen we have results for the SP.

Akari Nakahara (USA) 57.91 – 3F, 2A, 3S+2T;
Amber Glenn (USA) 54.53 – jumps: 3F (pitched forward so omitted planned 3T in combo), 3Lo+2T, 2A
Katie McBeath (USA) 53.47 – 3Lz+3T(decent attempt, likely ), 3F, 2A;
Brynne McIssac (USA) 50.03 – went for/stood up on 3F+3Lo, 3Lz, 2A
Isadora Williams (BRA) 48.54
Maxine Marie Bautista (USA) 44.23
Sofia Del Rio (MEX) 36.57
Andrea Montesinos Cantu (MEX) 35.94
Netta Schreiber (ISR) 30.42
Dimitra Korri (GRE) 26.99

I am thinking Amber has made a very strong argument for the SA TBA spot at this point. Long as she skates in the long like she has i think it is her. Good for her.

Alex O is at Philadelphia International with Maxine Bautista. He is the only coach working with her here, AFAIK.

Tom Z and his coaching team (Becky Calvin, Drew Meekins, Stephanie Kuban) are here working with their many entries (in both international and non-international comps).
FWIW, have not seen TZ or anyone from his coaching group working with Maxine.

ETA:
Off topic, but in my limited observation of Alex O away from the boards, his default mode strikes me as downright jovial. :dance2:

ETA:
Aren’t Tammy and Tom kind of team teaching now, or at least cooperating with each other somehow (as with Vincent last season)? ...

An example (I think?) of the new chapter of Tammy/Tom cooperation:
At Philadelphia International practice, Tom Z is the sole coach at the boards for Yaro Paniot. My guess is that Tammy did not travel here. Have not seen her at all.

ETA (on Aug 4):

Realizing now that Yi Christy Leung is at Asian Open Trophy … so Tammy probably is in Thailand with her?

ETA (on Aug 5):

Now have 100% definitive confirmation that Tammy went to Thailand with Yi Christy Leung.

Just saw a video of Bradie’s new short program… it looks very promising. She’s going for a 3Lutz- 3loop this season as well, nice to see a harder technical layout. Perhaps she’s trying to get back three spots for the US! :)

Where did you see this video? (Just wondering -- don't share if it's from a private source!)

Oh Bradie's at DuPage Open?! Cool! I hope Arriba went to the competition and will report back!

I'd like to see the rest, but this looks very promising!

Wow! It's pretty awesome to see Bradie upping the tech content with a lutz-loop. I almost forgot about her lately, she's been so quiet.
