2018-2019 GP Assignments

Is it just me, or does Keegan have quite a good shot at medaling, and maybe even a fair chance of the final? Maybe those 4A videos yesterday just got me overhyped, but I could easily see him in silver behind Shoma and Yuzuru at his events. Considering the uphill fight that Gabby has at hers, dare I start pinning my Team Canada hopes on Keegan for the home turf GPF?

I'm pinning my hopes on Gilles/Poirier, but Keegan does have a shot as well

I'd rate Keegan's odds of medaling at Skate Canada International as quite favourable. Shoma is untouchable for first place, of course, but he has as solid a shot at the silver medal as anybody there (Kazuki Tomono seems like the biggest competition, unless Jason can get a quad down posthaste).

Rostelecom is a bit more of a lift, but not impossible with a good performance and a bit of luck (i.e., Kolyada bombs).

Basically if you assume Yuzu,Shoma, Nathan, Boyang and Mikhail in GPF, then there is one spot left. I’d say he has a shot. SC is pretty wide open after Shoma — Jason and Kazuki might be his highest competitom there, but Russia has both Yuzu and Mikhail, plus a bunch of other young upstarts.

I find it ironic that we were all b++tching about ISU's site crashing so easily and once the GP assignments popped then GS forum also crashed.

Can someone tell us how Gracie gets a spot? Based on World Ranking?

Why did Anna Pogo not get a spot?

Pogo was not guaranteed any spot this year. She and Gracie could use the comeback skater rule. so Gracie showing up and Anna not means the former used that clause while Anna probably wasnt submitted at all.

Oh,after this year world, I only bet in men/women event possibility to become chaotic any minute... I wouldn´t bet on a medal for anyone

I didn´t knew this rule existed

I think Gilles and Poirier can probably be penciled in for the Final. Silver at SCI is in the bag as long as they're solid, based on the field. At IdF, the main threat to deprive them of silver would be a Hawayek/Baker surge.

Looking over the rosters, I think both of our main pairs teams have a solid shot at the Final. Silver is in reach for them in all of their events.

Anna could not because she competed last season at Skate Canada. She is probably best off sitting out this season and using that clause next season.
(But then the next wave of Russian juniors are coming up :hopelessness:)

But Gracie never competed last season. Anna did. She was assigned two Grand Prix events, Skate Canada and Skate America. She went and had a disastrous free at Skate Canada and pulled out of Skate America and wasn't in any competition since. So she cannot use the comeback rule, because she didn't sit out the last season.

I think Anna couldn't use the come back skater because she skated at Skate Canada last season.
