2019-20 GP Series: Entries announced

Kailani Craine is a possibility for the SA GP spot replacement. She’s not a podium threat to compete with Bradie, and also, Kailani trains in the US.

With already 3 Japanese, Russian and US skaters, the substitute list for Tursynbaeva is shorter!

03 (39) 180.55 Marina PIREDDA (ITA)

You missed Veronik Mallet, she slots in at 7th, ahead of Nicole Schott .

Also Elizabeth is only crossed off SA. She’s still listed for China.

Veronik Mallet is already assigned to Skate America ;)

There's still one TBA spot for China, which has some chances to be given to another country, as there's not many other competitive/eligible chinese girls. Why not Yi Christy Leung?

Young You and Yelim Kim are in Korea for Youth Olympics tryouts. As neither is in the US right now, USFS may not want to spend the travel $.

Well, the politics between the PRC government and Hong Kong aren't exactly great at the moment.

Well, Christy got an invitation to Shanghai Trophy (which was kind of surprising because of political climate), why not CoC if China has no one to send?

Well, the politics between the PRC government and Hong Kong aren't exactly great at the moment.

CoC invited Chih-I Tsao from Taiwan, and the politics between Beijing and Taipei are not better ;)
Hongkong coorganize the Challenger Series Asian Trophy with the Chinese Fed as it will be held in Dongguan.
But why waiting a so long time to announce who'll get this spot?

Ladies
Russian ladies are only eligible to replace another Russian lady. The same for Japanese ladies, except if there's a vacant spot at GP CAN.
Kim, You, Piredda, Riabova, Leung, Peltonen and Schott are eligible for the vacant spots at GP USA, FRA and JPN.
Hicks and Mallet are eligible to GP FRA and JPN.
Andrews is eligible to GP FRA only, Wessenberg to GP JPN only, Rajicova, Craine and Brezinova to GP USA only.
As the vacant spot for GP CHN is a host pick, I'm not sure whether they have to chose between the 10 best-ranked alternates if they don't select a Chinese skater?
And as there's 4 spots left and we don't know in which order they'll be attributed to another skater, the list could evolve between each attribution.

Weren’t Ryom/Kim asssigned to IdF? Any reason given for the WD there?

They were initially announced by the French Fed as replacers for James/Ciprès, but then the ISU update gave Ghilardi/Ambrosini as replacers. Another communication's issue by FFSG :rolleye:

At fisrt FFSG wanted stronger competitors and then preferred a less expensive team in cost-covering.
