2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Tarakanova seems in a bit of difficulty. Having high ambitions, dismissed from rinks twice, yet begging for more money? 50K is more than twice the average income for working class Russians.
She is undoubtedly talented and a very special skater when on form, but I’d think twice about my investment.
Maintaining a social media presence seems more important than training at the moment.
For that list of expenses suggest Tarakanova is only allowed on the ice at Snow Leopards but declined everything else? Is probation that strict with FFKKR?

I might sound a bit harsh on Anastasiya, but in reality, is she really needed with all present and near future positions on The Magnificent Seven (Snr National Team) already filled?
Anastasiya needs some very good results after very hard, intense and concentrated training to break into the Seven next season.
Despite all her grit and flair I doubt she really has the attitude of full commitment to the job at hand.

And TAT and many others of the old guard aren’t exactly positive towards #TeamTutberidzeForProgress and its skaters.

I found it strange too. Shouldn't federation compensate her traveling costs and costumes? And don't Snow Leopards have organised dance and physical education classes? It would be weird to only allow her on ice for the whole year.

Is she on the national team (main or reserve)? Because if not, I don't think the fed covers anything. Would also love someone more knowledgeable to explain the financing situation for skaters who are not at the very top.

She hasn't been dismissed from the rinks--she chose to leave Eteri because she wanted to quit skating and Plushenko because he didn't have a large ice rink and wasn't able to support her. The group she was in at Plushenko's under Ivanova has now been completely disbanded and she might not have enjoyed being the only older skater besides considering the pointless risks Titova is taking there (going for quads and triple axels despite the fact her triples aren't consistent let alone her triple triples) I'm glad she's no longer there.

In terms of the money I think the main problem is in that Nastya herself was originally from Volgograd but moved to Moscow when she was 8 or 9 for her father's job. I wonder has he lost the job/taken a new position which is why the family is as a whole moving home. As a result of this they would have to rent an apartment in Moscow for Nastya to live in on top of the family home which especially considering the job in Volgograd may not be as well paid would be a substantial financial sacrifice.

In terms of Panova it is hard to tell, as a coach she receives minimal funding considering that her rink is a hockey rink primarily which probably leads to additional costs so I wonder how much extra she could really offer. Furthermore lots of her more successful girls appear to be from wealthier background in contrast to Nastya's with multiple girls attending the camps at Raf's over the years so this might be an accepted part of the rink culture. Furthermore things like quad training which require a harness would require someone to operate it--both Panova and Moiseeva are relatively small/slight woman so they might have to get someone in for this.

The youtube in my opinion is light hearted fun but also a good way of promoting herself/even making money from ad revenue. It doesn't really take away from her skating--she only makes a video a month if that and if she enjoys making them as down time why not.

She might not be needed in the 'Magnificent Seven' :rolleye: but she's more naturally talented then the vast majority of them and she should be allowed the opportunity to be suceed.

After watching the teaser, I’m more excited for Alena’s FP. Shcherbakova's also has me interested and really looking forward to Elisabet's program. I didn't expect voice overs for Trusova, the original Night King's theme is amazing, I hoped for that version. It's too short to begin to form an opinion :)

She is on junior main. Together with Valieva, Kanysheva, Vasilieva and so on. I can't imagine that all these girls spend so much money, considering that many families earn less than 50K dollars a year.

My gut feeling tells me Tarakanova has essentially lost everything regarding stipends and such.
And she seems to have been thrown back on Volgograd while Moscow is the center of figure skating.

Would she now regret being dismissed from Sambo-70?

Like with Gubanova, deep self reflection is needed. What went wrong, what did I do wrong? What lessons have I learned? How will I apply myself to make certain it won’t happen again? Etc.
Good guidance, supportive but firm parents, dependable trusted friends etc.
And of course the inevitable money to make it all happen.
I doubt any skater not part of the Seven can be self sufficient financially.

Would Anastasiya make a good performer in Cirque du Soleil etc?
Work ethics there are as strict as any gym or rink.

The voice overs are part of the song. Sasha announced her music will consist of two songs Pray (High Valyrian) and the Night King some time ago. The beginning of the choreo is the music from the song Pray and the voice over is included in the original song :) the language spoken their is Daenerys Targaryen's mother tongue, which is called High Valyrian like the song. As Sasha will portray Daenerys it makes sense that they include this song. :D a little GoT lesson ;) I had to as a GoT fan

Of course, take your time ;) I will try to read it myself, but any help would be appreciated, as my russian skills are very wonky.
EDIT: Google Translate didn't disappoint this time and translated the list of her expenses quite well:
Here is a list of what is needed money and why I am looking for a sponsor:
- for renting an apartment in Moscow, since in Volgograd, where I come from there is no way to maintain a high level of skiing.
- on sports nutrition.
- To pay for school tutors, because professional skaters have almost no time to attend classes at school.
- for additional classes in choreography.
- for additional classes in acting.
- for additional classes on OFP (physical training?).
- for individual stretching.
- on training on a fishing tackle (harness), for training quads.
- on tailoring of dresses for performances.
- for the choreography of programs.
- transportation and other expenses.

Google translation was fine in general. The only thing is the last but one item: "постановка программ" is wider than just choreography. It is overall program planning and development starting with music selection and cutting.

As for transportation, the Fed pays for competition logistics and official camps. But any special requests are out of consideration. Nastya says that she wanted to go for a summer camp with Raf but parents could not raise necessary financing. That was one particular reason why she is looking for sponsors.

I just listened to the interview. Nastya stepped in every trap the interviewer placed for her.
Now it looks like Nastya thinks that her main rivals are overscored and they are lucky to win their titles...

I also think quite a few questions (the way they were asked) were really pushing her to some specific answers.
Maybe it’s because she was alone in Moscow, didn’t have her mom with her, and was making interviews by herself, what helped the interviewer fish out some scandalous phrases.

In the end, it‘s just not clever to make an interview with this Rodina person. She‘s only after drama and scandals. I’m worried what this means for Gubanova. She‘s not doing herself any favours by making such comments. I wish her parents had looked into this person and what kind of things she does before letting their daughter be interviewed by her. Then maybe this whole drama wouldn‘t have happened at all. I hope she learns from this and this negative attention doesn‘t affect her career more than it already did.

I would think Russian parents would be more on top of these things than they are. But they arent or so it seems. I only say to then be more involved in their kids careers. Dont interfere with the coaching in any way. But protect them at all costs and who they may be exposed to like this Rodina character. When I found out Nastyas interview was with her I thought oh no. :( I sensed trouble.

Ok.. lets sum it up for future references. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

It is curious whether there will be attempts at quad on junior test skates? I hope to see two at least. Waiting for another week is so long.

I love the music for Alena the best. I thought she was going to use that weird vampire music from that ice show a while back.
