I think only one 4Lz is key right now because the +REP score really impacts the FS score. I think her 3A is steady enough to do 3A-3T, and those transitions are insane :eeking:

If she is able to do 2 quad lutz and 2 3A, i don't see why she should change her layout. She needs to skate to it so she will be more and more consistent when Olympics come. The only reason why she fell on these lutz because she was trying not to under rotated it like she did at broadmoor. Girl got crazy difficult into that triple axle. She Girl got talent and she is so good at such a young age already. I don't even know why people say she is slow, I don't even see that. I just love the way she moves her hands... We should praise her cuz she's the because that America got. She got the time to improve her skating skills and presentation.

I just remember watching the JGPF last year, and seeing how devastating of an impact the +REP had on Trusova and Shcherbakova (). It's understandable that the 4Lz isn't quite stable enough to guarantee a combination just yet, and so I think she should do one for now. Of course, she probably won't . But if she did, she could always add in the second one relatively soon if the first goes as planned pretty often.

I can see how it came off that way, but what I meant was that I’d rather she keep trying the hard elements so that she can master them for seniors instead of simplifying her programs to avoid pops/falls that may benefit her now but not in the long run.

She did do better with the same program at Broadmoor, so maybe it’s was just an off day. I do think she’s very talented and wish her the best.

According to Alysa’s coach Laura, during the week of Glacier Falls Summer Classic, Liu’s house got broken into, she received new blades and boots two days prior to the competition, and had a collision that resulted in a gash on her calf. All of this during the competition week and Liu still decided to go out there and perform. Someone hold my tissues because this young girl is one tough cookie.

I think this is our first confirmation that Harrell is staying junior this season? Which is, IMO, a very good thing. The experience will be good for her.

Looking forward to seeing Calista Choi as well. According to this page her coach is Denise Myers, same as Bradie. That is promising.

Maybe because the Russian girls her age compete over and over and over and over again-especially domestically. This competition was a great chance to work out the kinks under pressure. The more you compete the more power you have over your nerves and outside factors. It was a meaningless competition, but a good chance to air out the choreography.

Alysa is a fighter and she probably wanted to compete because most of her friends also compete at that event. Plus, skating might be therapeutic for Alysa and a way for her to get away from all that was going on. Whatever the reason may be, such mental fortitude at such a young age is insane and I applaud Alysa for going the extra mile. Also, Laura's words insinuate that nobody told Alysa to compete, she simply chose to out of her own volition.

Yes, Denise was with Calista at Nationals and also accompanied her to the Egna Spring Trophy in Italy in March of 2019. Choi earned 159.68 with a fall on an under-rotated 3F in the Short and negative GOE on an under-rotated 3T as a Junior at the event.

That's so horrible! Who steals a little girls skates?!

At 13, girls are pretty determined and have a fighting spirit. My hats off to her guys as I know the entire experience of a home invasion and losing her equipment made her feel angry, helpless, and frustrated. Competing was probably therapeutic, more than anything. Poor girl.

In unrelated Alysa news, Ting got to visit her FS choreographer in Montreal. Looks like she may have been refining the FS? Which is great! I love that she is focusing on choreography.

Additionally, she posted a lovely story of her doing a clean flip today. So maybe the skating powers have answered my prayers and Ting will be healthy and trained for her GP’s ������������.

ya, the post caption seemed alittle fake to me or alittle exaggrated to cover up her bad skate. which is the coach fault cuase she should the skater mature and take actioans of her own mistakes
