2019-20 U.S. Ladies Figure Skating

I know it's only a practice video, but wow that lutz euler sal combo looks better than like 95% of the lutz euler sal combos I've seen from all the other ladies!

Gracie has improved incredibly. Her jumps now are looking as good as they ever have. She's seriously in the top 3 in the world for quality. Of course, doing the jumps in programs and in a qualifying competition is a big step up. Wishing her the best!

obviously we haven't seen her skate full programs in a year, but Gracie's jumps look so ready. she was FLYING into that combo and it had the ease and effortlessness she had before. she looks really confident and comfortable in her jumps.

Wow--another triple axel would be really cool. She did the Broadmoor comp this summer and did the axel there. I really like her and hope she does well at Egna.

Sarah Jung is not assigned to Egna. Isabelle Inthisone and Kate Wang are both competing in the ladies division. Kate is currently learning the 3A.

I think that Sarah Jung performs pretty well at JGP, the first international competition for her.
Ted said "Sarah is a very good skator and has great quality of skating and skill. She needs to gain more confidence by experiencing more international competition and repetition."
I hope she got junior B international this fall. Once gain more confidence, she will do triple axel in the international competition.

Good for her! Glad she is attempting the triple axel. You got to keep striving for more difficult elements and not getting passed up by the world. Little Russian and Japanese girls are doing quads and triple axels. We are so far behind them. The USFSA was failing in the pairs and women's programs. We used to be so dominate in the ladies and haven't gotten an Olympic medal since 2006. That's 13 years of only 1 World medal in the ladies discipline. This competition is smart and finally the USFSA is doing something about the drought in medals.

Her coach has posted a lot of videos in the past showing Gracie's off-ice training. I would expect that, physically, she should be in pretty good shape to get through both programs and that they're not just training jumps in isolation. I'm curious to see if she goes for all the difficulty she has been showing on Instagram or if she scales things back just to have a safer first outing. Even two triples in the SP and four in the LP should be enough to see her sail through this weekend.

It's great that she's working on it! Right now, her attempts look like they would be downgraded. Not quite sure she totally has the jump yet.

Re: Gracie - gosh, I am SO EXCITED. We've seen that she can jump like she used to - I am curious how her skating and spins will look! I'm so excited and anxious for her. I don't want my expectations to get too high. I just want her to be happy with whatever she does.

Me too. I get excited just talking about her comeback. I just hope she skates clean as she'll do well here with a Sal and a 3 Toe Loop combo with high GOE.

I wish NBC Gold Live streamed Regionals for this! I know that they will send it and they will upload, but I bet there will be someone in the audience who will upload a fan cam - LOL, I wish it was me.

I already know a lot of people going to Regionals just to watch Gracie. I hope she skates the way SHE WANTS TO and HOPES TO. Also, even if she doesn’t have the best outing, I hope she knows that this is a long process that will require even more time to get used to the competitive atmosphere.

Well said!

Honestly i just so want to see her skate with joy and happiness. I don't care if she never lands a 3A... if practicing in the harness gives her joy, i want her to continue. I love seeing skaters skate with passion and for themselves, and that is what we are seeing from Gracie.

And we are off. Please be nice. Gracie is listed on Friday. To me she is well able to qualify for sectionals on her very high base level score. Just let her skate.

YESSSS!!! That combo looked so effortless!! The height and ice coverage is so good!! Her timing in the combo also made it look so fluid!! That was so beautiful! Gracie is such a strong girl (both physically and mentally)!
