7. Most recent World Junior Figure Skating Championships
8. Challenger Series Senior International Competitions during the current season
9. Previous season’s U.S. Figure Skating Championships
10. Other assigned ISU International Competitions during the current season
11. Most recent U.S. Novice & Junior Challenge Skate​

Audrey has good results from 2020 YOG and 2019 Nats. I hope USFS will give her a chance to show her stuff at selection camp.

Considering how she scored at YOG (higher than what other junior US ladies have scored so far), it would be insane not to invite her at least to the camp. It wouldn't be right to directly name her to the team, but I think she should still get a chance to show what she can do one last time (especially given the relatively weak juniors field in the US).

Given her YOG score (higher than what other junior US ladies have scored this season internationally), it would be silly not to at least invite her to the Worlds camp. She's shown that she's ready now and should at least get a chance to fight for that spot. The US field is pretty weak right now too, so they really can't shut out a talent like Audrey right now!

yeah i think USFS would be silly to not consider Audrey for JW, despite not making nationals. she did well enough at YOG.

thanks to all who reminded me Starr competed as a junior last month, i completely forgot about that. i guess it would make sense then!

Gracie's rippon lutz is beautiful. she looks so much more at ease on the entrance, like it's more muscle memory now. i hope she has 2 skates at nationals she can be proud of, that's the least she deserves.
 
Nationals will certainly be interesting for the US ladies, in the prediction thread the top four placements seem to shuffle around quite a bit. Some have Alysa winning, others have Bradie or Mariah winning. It will definitely be an interesting competition.

Audrey didn’t seem to think she had a chance. She posted a “goodbye” to her programs on her Instagram story a couple days ago. I hope she doesn’t stop training programs, because she definitely should be invited to the camp imo.

Still idiotic to have the Ladies free skate on a Friday night. Do they really think they will have a bigger crowd for the Ice Dance final on Saturday night? How did that become the big final for Saturday night instead of the Ladies?

FWIW, on Instagram yesterday, Audrey Shin said (in part): "... I'll continue to train hard! ..."

(And I too will continue to hope that JW selection camp is in her future.)

Good luck to all at Nats ... especially Amber Glenn! :yay:
 
If this was Russia, the coaching council would have absolutely subbed Audrey in for nationals given Harrell’s withdrawal after her relatively successful performance at YOG. It’s too bad she won’t have the chance to compete when she’s clearly one of the top non-injured juniors right now.

She's been doing a lot of nice looking jumps in practice the last year or so. If she could do elements like this in competition, the GOE would help her stand apart from the field. No one in the US can do a lutz like that.

Speaking of Gracie's lutz, I finally watched her Sectionals skates. I noticed that she changed her lutz technique from the long run down the ice on her left skate. She's now doing it the other way; doing the approach on her right foot, then crossing her left foot over the right, setting down a good outside edge, then promptly doing the jump from there.

I've always liked that technique, which I think I first saw (or first noticed) some of the Russian girls doing it that way. I remember Gracie's great lutz, but often I'd be so nervous because she'd go so long and then be really close to the boards when she finally jumped. So, bottom line, I like her new technique. :)

You're right; in the video recent posted, it appears to be her old technique so I'm not sure if the video itself is old or if she returned to her previous entrance. Either way, she never has edge problems with that jump so whatever allows her to do it most consistently is probably what we'll see at Nationals.
