2019-20 U.S. Ladies Figure Skating

Bradie's white dress was made by Elena Pollack. Elena posted pics of Bradie, Mariah, Jason, and Tomoki yesterday wearing her designs, and wished them luck at 4CC. https://www.instagram.com/p/B8J33nVp_id/

Thanks.
I had a feeling that Bradie’s dress was designed by the same person who did Mariah’s. They look very similar.
Ladu Designs is nice, and I’m glad that skaters have more options than just Lisa McKinnon and Brad Griffies.

I don’t know that this list is 100% up yo date. Emily zhang is not listed and did an international in the beginning of January.

Yes, this is true. Gracie's score from Nationals was lower than her Sectionals one, though, so unless she made the ISP at Sectionals, she won't have made it based on Nationals.

So proud of Bradie for placing second at 4CC. If she can hold this placement following the free, it will be a huge accomplishment for her. She needs all the confidence she can muster before she heads to worlds.

I think she can do it and she should have every confidence.

No one outskated her in terms of presentation. I love both Rika and Bradie and presentation from both girls was spot on for me.

She just needs to be clean, clean clean and she will medal.

I am so proud of her! She is up there with the two big guns and their triple axels!

Gracie's path forward is probably to show improvements through summer competitions in hopes of getting to Skate America through invite. She could do well next season, worst case scenario she has to go through regionals/sectionals again and she makes it through better than this year and does better at nationals and sets herself up well for the olympic season. I think the key with her and her comeback has been to patiently work step by step and if the steps aren't perfect she's relaxed through them because she's got a better mindset than she had before.

Its interesting to notice how bradie doesn't get any love in this forum. She just skated the sp of her life and noone cares here. Fs is indeed a very superficial sport. If you don't fit in the perfect princess picture noone cares

Karen got her 3lz3t back competition ready so quickly  I was so proud to see her land it. Her jumps are still mostly borderline, but I think I would've given her the rotations in the SP. Love the program for her and if she can keep putting together good SPs, she'll surely be judged more favorably. I hope she continues to focus more on skating next season, because I think she can really do it.

I'm not sure "perfect princess" is the reason. Ashley Wagner was no perfect princess but she had many fans. With Bradie, it's hard to explain. For me, nothing really stands out. I guess it's just that some skaters have "it" and some don't.

i think this is the only way to explain it. Ashley had the natural, organic ability to draw an audience in and a wonderful ability to emote. Bradie has made lots of progress in that area but she's not at that level yet, and i think that's why. a lot of it still feels forced or practiced/rehearsed. it doesn't come from the soul like Ashley, and that was a huge reason people loved her.

nonetheless i do love Bradie's short this season, it's very fun and out of all the programs she's had i think she interprets it the best. it's the closest she's come to that natural, from the soul interpretation.

I care and have become a big fan. She has grown so much as a skater and I love the way she attacks the elements and at the same time she has learned to emote and express on the ice. She's the most confident senior US lady we have had in a while.

I feel the same way. She's almost a bit like Rachel Flatt to me, who also was a great competitor and technically strong but didn't really sell her programs as much as she could. Like you said, not everyone has "it".

I personally love Bradie and every season her programs just get better and better and the artistic improvements to me are incredible.

I don't think of any skater as a perfect princess picture, and I find that an interesting choice of working since Bradie's breakout season she was skating to princess music. I find calling any of them princesses quite demeaning. Bradie's not everyone's favorite and not everyone's going to appreciate her skating. In my deduction it's much more impressive and gripping to watch live than it is on tv.

I love Bradie and often send her gushing comments online.

I'm staying a bit more quiet after my initial celebrations (my girls are one and two) because I don't want to jinx her!!! Yeah I'm totally weird about it but I really want her to medal so I'm more comfortable just waiting and not saying much.

I couldn't careless how she appears (granted I may make comments about someone's costume choices), I think the 'lack of love' comes from her not being a stand-out skater, she doesn't have the best artistry or doesn't do programs that are all that memorable, she doesn't do stand-out technical elements. She's a solid skater whose dependable that she won't go out and be a mess but is unlikely to win any big medals (GPF/Worlds) unless others mess up and it was that same story last year before we had multiple skaters doing 3 triple axels at a competition or multiple quads in the FS.

Alysa Liu will be performing in all of the Stars on Ice Japan shows.

I'm happy for her that she's getting opportunities like this before she's even senior. Not many non-Japanese juniors get to perform in SOI Japan, so this is a big deal for her. It also might help offset the crazy costs she has for all of these high level coaches and choreographers she's visiting.
