That was a good fighting routine from Gulyakova and the proper competition to try the triksel for confidence when she competes in the stage of Russian Cup.

Great start to the competition. Even if I'm not the biggest fan of "Je t'aime". (Heard it too many times in skating competitions, and could now do without hearing it).

The dress was lovely. But, the neckline of the lower layer could maybe do with being less plunging. (If there hadn't have been an upper layer of lace, I'd have been worried about her popping out!)

It would be interesting to know Mishin's opinion over tightly screwed triksels versus triksels in the Rippon position in such tall skaters like Gulyakova.

Now, will Samodoruva also try her triksel? Not much to loose here in Minsk, is there even a prize money since it is ISU?

You can tell that she was brought through the American system. There were times I was thinking "this is so Ashley Wagner".

Mmmm. A pop early on, and a fall near the end.

Not the best I've ever seen her (bearing in mind I've only seen her once before!), but still enjoyed it.
