2021-2022 U.S. Men's Figure Skating

After seeing Mikhail Kolyada in Italy, it seems it will be the Battle of the "Schindler's List" Programs assuming they both make their respective Olympic Teams. Mikhail has Jason on the tech side but, Jason makes me feel the music more. I love them both so, I'm just happy to see them out there.

I really wish I could be at the NHK Trophy Event. The lineup is stacked with Talent and I would love to see Vincent win it all. Wishing him the best of luck as this would be huge push to get him into the final and show those international judges that he means business.

NHK has gone from a must see for me to something I can’t be bothered to get out of bed for. I’m sure Vincent will do well.

:drama: My heart!!! If you're from the US, this IS a big event. Alysa and Vincent are both great and Amber is looking for a place on the Olympic Team and she needs to do well there. Madison and Evan will also be there along with 2 of our dance teams. Lot's of things are on the line there.

The skaters I will get up out of bed in the wee hours for dropped out. Amber is close but not there yet.

I'm also so sad H/B aren't going to be performing here. However, I would say sometimes skating is more exciting when our favorites aren't competing because we can enjoy the individual performances without any particular bias impeding our enjoyment of each individual skate. On the other hand, sometimes it's just too exhausting to wake up at ridiculous hours to watch skating. Skating doesn't have to be watched live to be enjoyable 🙂

I like skating more when my favorites aren't involved! Had the time of my life with week with the Italian GP😅

Too twitchy when dealing with Rika and Kamila. I actually don't/can't watch them live😬

Bradie is an interesting one for me. I'm heavily invested but without the crazy that follows Rika and Kamila. Not quite sure why! But I'm in a perfect place with her.

I just want them to be uninjured at this point though😭

Vincent with a clean SP in the Olympics team event will be superb!!!! That program is a masterpiece imo 😍😍😍

There’s no high higher that the one when Gracie does well. There’s no low lower than when she does poorly. I’ve been known to pick up a new favorite watching skaters I don’t know though.

Yes. No injuries to anyone!

Chock / Bates will be the only US Dance team in Japan, as Hawayek / Baker withdrew (injury). Two US Pair teams will be there: Cain-Gribble / Leduc and Liu / Mitrofanov.

After seeing the NHK prediction thread, I have to say that I am surprised at how many people do not have Vincent winning. The Man had 1 hiccup and it seems he's got a mountain to climb with some people. I see him building on the Momentum he has from Skate America and reminding those judges that Nathan is not the only US Man with a quad filled LP.

Mr Rice I have Vincent winning in the prediction game, but Shoma has had strong skates as well, has IMO a delightful and quirky LP, and this event is in Japan. He cannot be easily counted out. ;)

That said, Vincent has a newfound confidence that has so far inspired his skating.

In fact, I hope that some of that confidence rubs off on Tomoki and Camden, the other two US men there, whose skating I quite enjoy when they are "on".

Me too. Especially Camden. Maybe it was too much pressure when everyone, including myself, picked him to be a future National Champion. I love his style as he reminds me of Max Arron.

Vincent's programs this year are just wonderful. He is really into the performances---it isn't just jump, jump, jump.

I do like Shoma Uno, too, but he is not the jumper he used to be. His programs are marred with falls and pops. I think he has already been passed by Kagiyama.
