Oooh look at that, in junior entries it looks like Norwegian/German ice dancers Milla Ruud Reitan and Nikita Remeshevskiy will have their debut! I hope I will finally see them

Yay, it's working! Dear @anonymoose_au , quite a few Australians there (3 Teams in Ice Dance, but there are more.).
Edit: there's only one more: in senior men.
Thank you for letting me know!

I've been trying to catch the Aussie skaters as they travel about Europe and now I know where they'll be 🙂

OK, I have no idea what is going on with the Intermediate Novice competition.

The first boy was introduced, the music started, he started skating and then, just as he was about to do his first element, he went over to the judges. The music stopped, he went back over to the gate, and then started practicing.

After a while, he was introduced again, he got into position, the music started, and he went back over to the judges. The music stopped, he went back over to the gate, and then started practicing again.

After a while, he was introduced again, and this time he did do the programme.

So, I have no idea what was going on. It was the same song each time, so it wasn't the wrong music. Maybe they started playing it at the wrong part, but I wasn't paying that much attention to be able to tell.

It'll be intereting to see if he gets any deductions for the false starts and delays. Because that will maybe give us some indication as to what on Earth was going on.

Right, the late start and the drama in the Intermediate Men's competition mean we are already running 20 minutes behind schedule. So, because of this, they have given the Advanced Novice Men a second Warm-Up.

The result is that we are now a further 5 minutes behind schedule! :drama:

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the organisers scrapped that resurfacing that is due to follow the boys, and go straight into the girls. And then re-position the resurfacing that is due to happen in the middle of the Advanced Novice Ladies to be before them, in an attempt to get us closer to schedule.

To be honest, I'm surprised that they didn't arrange it like that in the first place. 5-7-3-resurfacing-8-8 makes more sense to me than 5-resurfacing-7-3-8-resurfacing-8. Especially when the two groups of 8 are a segment in itself.

And what I just wrote is excactly what they have done. We move straight onto the girls.

Again, all the Novice competitions are being held back-to-back, but this time we have groups. The plan was to have a group of 7 Basic Novices; then a group of 3 Intermediate Novices; then a group of 8 Advanced Novices, followed by a resurfacing, and then another group of 8 Advanced Novices. But, in light of the delays, whether it does happen like this is anybody's guess.

Livestream for the Novice Ladies competitions is now on air.

And, as I expected, we are having the resurfacing now, before the Advanced Novice Ladies start.

Which means I can now finally start into my breakfast. An hour and a half later than I expected to be starting into it.

I can tell you something - I'm ready for it!

Since the resurfacing has ended, and we are now on a new stream, I have decided to do a separate post for the Advanced Novice Ladies.

Oh, no, it's not that bad. The first resurfacing between the boys and the girls was scrapped. Instead, we had a resurfacing there now, between the Intermediate Novice Ladies and the Advanced Novice Ladies. (Which was the most sensible place to put it anyway).

According to the original schedule, there was due to be another resurfacing at the end of this group. But, I think they will just carry on and complete this segment. And then we will be back on schedule for the Dancers.

I'm going to be getting increasingly behind during this segment, as I am running back and forth to the kitchen making toast.

Awww. We mightn't have got the usual antics from the Estonian skaters in Tallinn, but we got it in Andorra instead.

When Anna ZURAVLJOV was waiting for her scores, she had 2 coaches and 2 other skaters with her!

There are 3 chairs. Anna was sitting on the middle chair. On the chair to her right, Katarina KALME and a coach were perched side-by-side. And on the chair to her left, another coach was sitting with Gerda SMORODINA sitting on her knee.

Then, when it was Gerda's turn, she took the middle chair. Katarina and a coach were again perched side-by-side on the chair to her right. And on the chair to her left, Anna was perched side-by-side with the other coach. However, just after the camera turned to them, the coach told Katarina to go and start getting ready for her programme (there was only 1 skater between Gerda and Katarina). So, she left before the scores were announced.

Unfortunately, the camera stayed pointed at the ice when it was Katarina's turn to get her results. So, we didn't see what exactly happened that time. But, don't worry, when the final skater was going into position, we saw in the background that all 5 of them were sitting there. From what I could see, Gerda was back in her original chair, but was now sitting to the inside of the coach. And Anna was sitting where Katarina had previously been sitting.

It is so good to see that the camaraderie between the Estonian skaters is still going on.

Oh, and they finished 1-2-3!!! Anna leads by 4.51 points over Gerda, who is 3.10 points ahead of Katarina.

:cheer: WELL DONE GIRLS!!! :cheer:

Friendship wins!!!

And from the Novice Singles skaters, we move to the Novice Ice Dancers. First up, Pattern Dance 1, consisting of 3 groups. A group of 1 Intermediate Novice partnership; followed by a group of 3 Advanced Novice partnerships; followed by a group of 4 Advanced Novice partnerships.

Looks like we are staying on the same stream for the Dancers. Which is a bit of a boo-boo, as I just realised that this is actually the stream that they were planning to use for the first three segments tomorrow morning! I don't know what is happening with the stream that was supposed to be used for the Pattern Dances. Is it going to become tomorrow morning's stream?

Livestream for the Pattern Dance 1 competitions is now on air.

And after that resurfacing, it is time for the final segments of the day. The Novice Dancers are back for their Pattern Dance 2 programmes. Same format as PD1. Now that the Intermediate Novices have finished, it's time for me to have my dinner. The Advanced Novices will have to wait until I come back at the top of the hour.

Not literally, though. It's just the stream that I am pausing, not the whole event!

Unlike yesterday, I had the wit today to have my breakfast early. So, I will be able to watch this in peace.

And I have to apologise. We don't have an Estonian 1-2-3. At the time I wrote my post about the Estonians, the livescoring page hadn't updated for the final skater. So, Pernille WITH (NOR) is in third, just 0.68 points ahead of Katarina KALME (EST). So, there is a good opportunity for Katarina to turn my mistake into a forecast...

Incidentally, with concentrating so much on the seating orders, I forgot to mention. When Anna ZURAVLJOV's score was announced, Gerda SMORODINA made it obvious that she thought it was too low a score. And yet, come the end of the segment, Anna was leading!

You gotta love the Estonian skaters, and the way they support each other.

Now for the moment of truth. How will the Estonian girls work supporting each other when they are skating in rapid succession?

First up, Katarina. (Because there is an interloper on after her, I suspect she might have some extra company).

Oooh. I recognise that drumming. We have a "Bolero"!

Mmmm. Not the "Bolero" edit that we are used to hearing. A completely different cut.

Had a few mistakes. And it has proved costly. She drops down to 3rd with 3 to go. So, definitely no Estonian clean sweep.

SP leader Anna was with her, sitting on the coach's knee. There was a funny moment at the start when she was starting to put her boots on, but changed her mind and decided not to.
