Beautiful skate from Pernille.

@norwegianfairytale - you have a promising prospect on your hands here!

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan
Thank you, I have to go back an rewatch her, just came a little late. I happy to hear this because she had a rough fall on the 2A yesterday where it looked like she hit her back, so I was a bit worried she had hurt herself!

Gaaah!!! The stream has got stuck at the end of Gerda!!! :bang: :bang: :bang:

Ah, good it came back in time for getting the results. Because Anna was up next, there was only one coach and Katarina with her. So, they had a chair each!

None of them looked terribly happy at the start, but then started laughing and joking with each other.

You know, that coach that was with her (the one whose knee keeps getting sat on), doesn't look terribly old. I'd say she is not too many years older than the skaters.

Well, Anna had the full quota of 5. And they were all on the chairs, as opposed to knees.

She won.

And it was great to see the celebrations. Gerda let out a big scream when the position was announced, and then the younger coach held up Anna's arm like they do at the end of boxing matches, and the other coach did the same with Katarina's arm, which could have been awkward giving that she didn't have the best of skates. But, she was too busy being happy!

I just love these girls, and the way they support each other. They are a really close-knit team.

But, I wish the results page would update, so that we can see the full results!

EDIT: Although the FS page hasn't updated since before Gerda's skate, the overall results page has. Anna was the only one of the Estonian girls to make the podium. Gerda was 4th, and Katarina was 6th. Pernille WITH (NOR) was 2nd, and Ella HAWKES (ZAF) was 3rd.

From the girls, we move onto the boys. Advanced Novice FS, followed by Junior SP. (There is due to be a resurfacing between them, but I am not completely convinced that it will happen, as there are only 2 Advanced Novices).

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Men's FS is now on air.

These Spanish Junior Men are really rocking out! This time, André ZAPATA gave us an Aerosmith medley of "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and "Dream On".

He wins. But, it was to be expected. He is a higher level of skater than Juan UREÑA at the moment.

As I expected, we move onto the Junior Men without a resurfacing. But, there was still a short break between the segments.

Now we know why they kept the break between the segments. The first Junior skater, Ian VAUCLIN (FRA), has withdrawn.

If they had went straight into the Juniors as soon as the Advanced Novices finished (like I expected to happen), they would have been running too far ahead of schedule.

That said, the Time Schedule PDF for neither Junior category's SP is terribly informative - they forgot to fill the names in!

Because of this, I have constructed the table myself and included it in my reminder post.

Hope this helps

Ah, we're starting and finishing with Estonians.

I wonder will they be supporting each other like the Advanced Novice girls were? And might we even have the Advanced Novice girls joining in the cheer squad?

EDIT: Well, if we do get an Estonian cheer squad, it won't be yet. Jelizaveta RUDNEVA has withdrawn. 😞

And so has the second skater, Mikai VAN OMMEREN (NED). 😲

So, we are actually starting with local skater, Paula MARGARIDO PEREIRA (AND).

I hope these withdrawals are not a sign of things to come.

It's always nice to see skaters from countries that are not traditional figure skating countries. And especially seeing skaters from Africa.

We've seen a few skaters from North Africa over the years, and from Morocco in particular. But I think this is the first time we've seen Lina HAMMOU AHABCHANE (MAR). And although she had a few issues (not least a big fall, which she took a while to get up from) and went into last position, I liked what I saw.

Hope we see more of her in the years to come.

Firstly, the livescoring has finally sprung into life (why does it always take a group or two before it starts working?)

Right, I'm away for my dinner. But I'll be back at the top of the hour, playing catch-up on the final group of Ladies before the Novice Dancers come on.

So, to the remaining girls...

I can't watch, but I just saw your post that Mikai van Ommeren has withdrawn. I wonder what is going on. She went to a JGP and after that there have only been withdrawals, but no information why. And now yet again. Worrying. I hope she's allright.

Indeed. It is concerning when a skater has a string of withdrawals, and you don't know why.

Last season, one of the skaters I have adopted had a good first half of the season, and then was missing for the second half of the season. And I was getting worried, as there was no obvious reason. It was only when I was looking for new videos of her at the end of the season that I found out by chance what had happened. Her grandfather had died.

She came back during the summer, and is now having the most successful season of her career.

So, I too hope everything is alright with Mikai. And her family.

Nice Addams Family routine to start off the Free Dances. I particularly liked the way that they incorporated the finger clicking into the choreography.

Too many partnerships ignore the finger clicking, as they are more concerned with doing actual elements. But, these two incorporated it perfectly, even making it part of some of their elements.

That is definitely going the extra mile in interpreting the music!  :points:

Looking forward to seeing if they can continue to be inventive like this in the years to come as they move through the ranks.

Mmmm. There was a pause in proceedings between the Advanced Novice Group 1 Warm-Up and the Estonian partnership doing their programme. They were waiting around at the boards for a long time. The announcer did say something, but I couldn't make it out.

Anyway, they did a "Lion King" programme. And I assume it was music from the stage show, because I didn't recognise the song in the middle, in between the two sections of "Circle Of Life".

Looking at the costumes, Miron was definitely one of the lions. But, I cannot work out what Angela was supposed to represent.

I enjoyed it. But, I love the Lion King, so I might be a little bit biased!

Disappointed that they were sat on their own when getting their results. We've become used to having a cheer squad for the Estonian skaters!

(I should add, I haven't finished the Junior Ladies SP yet, so I don't know yet if Heidi Mari AINJÄRV had any supporters with her).
