Joint interview with Nathan Chen and Mariah Bell is new on Fan Zone today.
Brian Boitano and Rusty Kath conducted the interview. 8:11 in length.

Below is the link to today's press release from NBC Sports re its Nats coverage.

Part of the headline is, "Nathan Chen Headlines Live Men’s Short Program Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on NBC and Men’s Free Skate Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC."
Which I will take as confirmation that live coverage of the Men's SP and FS will remain on NBC (putting to rest the fears that I had seen discussed on GS that it would need to be moved to a different channel because of football).

... I do have a question, though! The time that is posted in the event thread, is that a time different from East Coast? The schedule I've seen says that the Pairs short is on Thursday at 6:00 on NBCSN, but the thread says it starts 3:00. ...

I join you in wishing  that schedule information always included time zones ... but anyway:

The Senior Pairs SP competition is scheduled to start at approx. 3:00 pm Pacific Time.
(2:58 pm PT, to be exact, on the most recent USFS schedule that I have seen.)

NBCSN coverage starts at 6 pm Eastern.

(@CellarDweller, I read your post in another thread. My best to you and your family for continued recovery from COVID.
It will be nice to have you in the event threads starting tomorrow.)

^^ Sorry for the situation you're in @CoyoteChris. Stay safe! You should be able to watch the replays afterward. Prayers for everyone in your region. ❤️

Maybe this was posted here already. If so, here it is again:

The event program:
U.S. Championships Event Program Available Now | U.S. Figure Skating

And now I see this was already posted on the previous page...

Question: I wonder why Junior athletes will be skating last instead of first, like they normally do?

Fingers crossed I find a way to watch it. TV coverage, old fashioned way, might be the one this time. Not my preferred method, but I will do it for Chen and Zhou! Gonna check updated participant list

Is there any way to view these Nationals online via a free stream, maybe something 'foreign' that will not be visable in the US unless using a VPN? I did it before, but can't recall quite how.

Ways to watch are posted in each competition thread. Hope that helps.

Hey @el henry I'm putting out a call for an assist.

I've got a busy week ahead, and I'm not going to be able to invest the time to follow the juniors closely.

Will you give me a shout if you come across anything worthwhile?

I appreciate the vote of confidence, my friend. I am taking time to follow the news of the day, but I do hope to watch at least some of our junior men tonight,(y)

I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if anybody could help.

For the past few days, I have been doing a bit of housekeeping in the Nationals Predictions Game threads.

One of the things I like to do in the Predictions Threads every round is to replace the Entry List tables with SP Starting Order tables whenever they are announced. Now, obviously, because I wasn't online, I couldn't do that at the time. But, I am now catching up on doing that for the three events.

Thanks to @labgoat's post above, I know where the group divisions here were. And I am very thankful for them for being thoughtful enough to lay out their video link post like that.  :points:

:thank:

This season, I have got into the habit of including the starting and finishing times in my tables. Unfortunately, the Time Schedule PDF's are no longer linked to on the event website. Thanks to some kind soul archiving the homepage on 16th January, I have been able to find the Time Schedule PDF for the Senior Men's SP. However, the previous time the page had been archived was the 13th, which was before the draws happened.

So, does anybody by any chance have the Time Schedule PDF's for the Senior Ladies SP, Senior Pairs SP, and Senior Short Dance?

It isn't a big deal if I can't get the times. I just find that it is nice to know that the threads are just the way I intended them to be when they get sent to the archives.

11 Madison Hubbell, Lansing SC/Zachary Donohue, Lansing SC ...

Thanks to labgoat for your record-keeping.

Not a big deal, but FWIW, I am 99% sure that (for TV purposes?) the groupings for FD were:

- Group 2 of the FD had three couples: McNamara/Spiridonov; Pate/Bye; Shilling/Petrov
- Group 3 of the FD had five couples: Cesanek/Yehorov; Green/Parsons; Chock/Bates; Hawayek/Baker; Hubbell/Donohue

(Meaning that bigsisjiejie was correct in the event thread.)

... Pairs Free Skating
1 Evelyn Grace Hanns, Broadmoor SC/Jim Garbutt, Champions Edge SC
2 Laiken Lockley, DuPage FSC/Keenan Prochnow, DuPage FSC
3 Katie McBeath, Winterhurst FSC/Nathan Bartholomay, Southwest Florida FSC
4 Emily Chan, SC of Boston/Spencer Howe, SC of Boston
5 Olivia Serafini, SC of New York/Mervin Tran, SC of New York
6 Ashley Cain-Gribble, SC of New York/Timothy LeDuc, Los Angeles FSC
7 Audrey Lu, SC of Boston/Misha Mitrofanov, SC of Boston
8 Alexa Knierim, DuPage FSC/Brandon Frazier, All Year FSC
9 Jessica Calalang, DuPage FSC/Brian Johnson, Detroit SC...

And if anyone cares at this point:
- Group 1 for Pairs FS had two pairs: Hanns/Garbutt; Lockley/Prochnow
- Group 2 had three pairs: McBeath/Bartholomay; Chan/Howe; Serafini/Tran
- Group 3 had four pairs: Cain-Gribble/LeDuc; Lu/Mitrofanov; Knierim/Frazier; Calalang/Johnson

(Meaning that moonvine, bigsisjiejie, and Arriba627 were correct in the event thread.)

For posterity, will link here to Figure Skaters Online's wide-ranging article from Jan 27 -- with lots of good information regarding many skaters, both senior and junior, who competed at Nats:

ETA (on Feb 16):

For posterity, making note that the cardboard cutouts at Nats raised $50,000 for the USFS Memorial Fund:

... The impact of the memorial fund was even evident at the 2021 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, held during the coronavirus pandemic. The cutouts of photos of fans in place of real attendees due to COVID-19 restrictions were available to purchase in advance and raised $50,000 for the fund, Reichert said....
