2022 Egna Spring Trophy

That was so great from Hana! the 3A was huge:clap::cheer:

im still not sure why Jfed passed her over for the junior world spot when she came 3rd in jr nats:shrug:
Because senior nats results matter more and Rinka Watanabe who did better got chosen, even if she didn't compete as a junior at all during the season.
Edit: And i guess you said 3rd because she was the 3rd junior eligible.

I'd send Rino and Hana. Rinka has had a few good skates but no major intnl assignments and Rion has looked a little off her past few comps (although her 4T is looking better every time she tries it). If Rino skates like she did at Challenge Cup she would easily win. Alas, her injury hampered her when it counted. Onto next season, I suppose.

Why does Japan have such depth in singles? 😭 Mone is such a lovely skater and that was so good!

JSF I need you to send out the max number of skaters to every JGP, Challenger, and Senior B next season so everyone gets some international experience
JSF is already the best federation at sending all their skaters to international events. All six plus Mao Shimada of their top juniors got international events and any athlete placing in the top 12 at Senior Nationals, has gotten international events. This year was just weird for JPG due to pandemic.

I agree 100%. Just like I thought Mai should have been sent to Worlds over Mana Kawabe, Rino and Hana are their most solid Juniors. I worry about Rinka and Rion being good enough to secure three spots as they may not be good enough, despite a Russian-less field.

It's been years since I trust any of the Japanese Junior eligible Women to earn 3 spots
I barely trust them to keep 2
Sorry, but truth

Just gotta hope for the best

I just randomly happened upon Mark Hanretty's ISU bio whilst searching for the Fitterer brothers and it turns out one year he skated to Bolero from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. I can't imagine anything worse.
