The 2022 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships will take place January 18-23 2022, in Tallinn, Estonia. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is one of the four (World, Europeans, and World Junior Championships) annual figure skating competitions designated "ISU Championships." Skaters must belong to a non-European member nation of the ISU to compete and must be at least fifteen before July 1 of the previous year.

Update Oct 4, 2021:

The ISU was informed by the Chinese Figure Skating Association (CFSA) of the cancellation of the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, that was scheduled to take place from January 17 – 22, 2022 in Tianjin (CHN). The Council subsequently invited ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Members to send applications to host this Championships. No applications were received.

After consultation with the Estonian Skating Union, the Council decided to hold the Championships during the week following the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in the same venue. The Council therefore provisionally re-alotted the Championships as follows:

ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships to be held in Tallinn, Estonia tentatively on January 18-23, 2022.

The definite allotment will be confirmed as soon as possible once all logistical and financial details have been agreed upon with the Estonian Skating Union.

China will not host the 2022 FCC due to COVID concerns. ISU is again looking for an alternate hosting nation.

Wow! Thank you to Estonian Fed for agreeing to host a competition that they will not be able to participate in!

Although it is right after euros so it kind of makes sense if nobody else applied. I'm glad it is near my time zone!

I just crunched some numbers and noticed that if every nation sends the maximum number of ladies who have earned the technical minimums there could be over 30 ladies in the competition (and counting as the season progresses). Is this typical and then the number just naturally cuts itself back to the low 20s, or could we see an unusually large ladies field? Would love to see that!

Tallinn looks like a very beautiful city to just visit and walk around in. You can see why many Russians retire there....lots to see and do and the climate data indicates its pretty moderate.
